Jar of Greed

This card is similar to Upstart Goblin. It will probably won't be played unless you are running Exodia though. Contrary to popular belief, this card would not be restricted or even limited. Some people would ask, why? Upstart Goblin does the same thing and it gives your opponent 1000LP while Jar of Greed doesn't. The difference is; Jar of Greed is a Trap Card. This makes it slower than Upstart Goblin as you need to set it down for a turn first before you can use it. If you use it during your opponent's turn, you can't play the card you drew anyway. Upstart Goblin is simply faster and therefore it's Restricted.

In a Turbo Exodia deck, running 3 of these and Graceful Charity in addition to Pot of Greed, Upstart Goblin and Painful Choice, would really speed up the deck. I'm giving the rating based on Exodia decks alone...

Rating: 3.8/5
wartortle32 Wednesday - Jar of Greed

This trap card lets you draw 1 card from your deck.

There is only 1 use for this card. Exodia decks. Otherwise, it's even more useless than upstart goblin. The only purpose of this card is to help you speed
through your deck. Obviously, that is the main goal of Exodia. Note that your Exodia deck must be at 40 cards for this card to be effective (it should be at
40 anyway).

I give it a 1/5 in a normal deck. 3.8/5 in and exodia. I dont see the point in making this a super rare...

Wednesday - Jar of Greed

Sorry folks, I was a little under the weather on Monday (well, I still am, but =/), so I didn't get to review Torrential Tribute.  I give it a 3.5.  It's good, but just below staple level.

OK, today's review.

At first, this card seems worthless.  I mean, it's a Trap card, making it really vulnerable.  Plus, it only draws 1 card.  I mean, the card that you draw you would have drawn in place of Jar of Greed, right?  Well, this card has a couple of uses.

First, Exodia.  Most Exodia decks (in fact, all Exodia decks should) run exactly 40 cards, for speed.  Jar of Greed actually helps thin your deck.  With 2-3 Jar of Greeds, Pot of Greed, and Graceful Charity, that's some mad speed.

Second off, it makes good bait for M/T removal.  Unless it's a MST activated the first turn you set JoG, you can draw an opposing Heavy Storm, MST, or HFD.  Activate it, then watch your opponent groan as they just wasted their valuable M/T removal ^_^

It all depends on personal preference.  I don't see myself using this card unless I'm running Exodia.  Even then, I'll use recursion + Card of Safe Return instead =/

Score: 3.0
SomeGuy Wednesday - Jar of Greed

Today we are looking at one of the most simple Trap cards in the game. The only deck that I see using this is Exodia. Since most Exodia decks want as little cards as possible in there deck.

Besides Exodia decks, most other decks should stay away from this card. Dropping your deck down one card isn't really a benefit at all. Especially when you analyze what you are risking just to thin your deck out a tiny bit.

The main problem with this card is that it's a Trap card. You are basically sacrificing a draw in order to draw two cards on your next turn and thin out your deck one extra card. What exactly does that accomplish in a non-Exodia based deck? Absolutely nothing.

Rating: 2/5

Probably a 2.5/5 in an Exodia deck. But since I haven't playtested it yet, I don't even know if even deserves that "high" of a rating.
