Pojo's Yu-Gi-Oh Card of the Day

Double Snare

Card Number - LOD-015

Ratings are based on a 1 to 5 scale
1 being the worst.  3 ... average.
5 is the highest rating

Date Reviewed - 06.12.03

wartortle32 Double Snare

Select 1 face-up card on the field that has the effect that negates Trap Cards' effects and destroy it.

Right now, this card can only destroy 1 card in the English game, which would be Jinzo. That basically makes it the equivalent of those traps that can only counter 1 card like white hole. Like those cards, this card is way too specialized for it to be good. Most of the time, you're not going to have this card when there is a jinzo on the field, or you'll draw this and you wont ever see a jinzo come on the field. Later on, we'll get a trap card that negates all traps besides itself (I think the dub name will be Imperial Decree based on WWE) which this card will also be able to destroy, but right now, it's almost useless.

I'd give it a 1.8/5. It's to situational like those other traps.

This card should just read "Select 1 face-up Jinzo on the field and destroy it". Seriously.

There are a few other Monsters that have the ability to negate Trap cards, but none of them even come close to comparing with Jinzo. And that's the reason that makes Double Snare such a situational cards. Much too situational to use in your Deck, including your Side Deck.

Rating: 1.3/5
The Echidna Double Snare

aka: Anti-Jinzo

Ok, so it doesn't JUST negate Jinzo… but it might as well since that's pretty much the only thing anyone is going to use it for. Place this in the category of White Hole, Anti Raigeki, Gryphon Wing, and the like. Hmmm… you know we still need a Shattered Mirror (Anti-Mirror Force) and a U-Bend (Anti-Magic Cylinder)

Anyway, this card REALLY only has one use and that's to destroy Jinzo. Overall you’re better to throw in some multipurpose monster removal such as Tribute to the Doomed or Fissure. Then you are not wasting a precious card slot on the hopes that your opponent has a Jinzo.

Rating: 2/5 Too conditional to use seriously.
