Pojo's Yu-Gi-Oh Card of the Day

Mage Power

Card Number - LON-050

Ratings are based on a 1 to 5 scale
1 being the worst.  3 ... average.
5 is the highest rating

Mage Power

I don't really like this card once it was restricted. It lost a lot of power since it works best in multiples. Getting up to 3000 boost with a single is pretty darn good, but Heavy Storm simply wrecks it. If you are already playing United We Stand and you want more Power, I would recommend playing Axe of Despairs over this card.

Rating: 3/5
wartortle32 Monday - Mage Power

This card gives a monster a 500 ATK and DEF boost for each magic and trap card you have on your side of the field.

In my opinion, this card is better than United We Stand despite the lower potential boost. With Mage Power, you can set down a bunch of magic or traps to power up mage power. Whereas with United We Stand, you can only usually summon 1 monster per turn unless you use scapegoat. But it doesn't truly matter because if you use one, you should really also use the other. Both these cards are almost staples in beatdown decks as they can end a game in 1 turn and turn the crappiest monster into a powerhouse.

I give it 4/5. One of the best powerups in the game.
NickWhiz1 OK, this is how I'll do my reviews from now on. If people have a problem with it (Martin, you don't count =\), then I'll go back to a standard one.

Today we start another week
Of five cards a day
Today's card isn't very weak
It's quite powerful, yay!

This card a common...wrong?
It was in the original toil (referring to the Japanese Spell of Mask set)
But Konami found out it was way too strong
That's why it's now a foil

3000 is nothing to laugh at
With it, you could have the game won
But it makes monsters way too fat
So it got restricted to one =(

Just play all your M/T face-own
For one final hit
Your opponent will have a frown
And then yell "%$#@"!

Please be careful, though
For M/T removal
It depowers this card, whoa
You'll be in disapproval

Score: 4.0 (I still think UWS is better. However, +3000 isn't bad either.)
SomeGuy Monday - Mage Power

LON-050
Mage Power
Type: Equipment Magic
For every Magic and Trap Card on your side of the field, increase the ATK and DEF of the equipped monster by 500 points.
Ultra Rare

Mage Power is a highly overated Equipment Magic card in my opinion. It takes three Magic/Trap cards on your side of the field (Including itself) to become more effective than an Axe of Despair. That's just asking for a Heavy Storm. Thus making Mage Power only very effective when you are about to make the winning blow.

Personally, the only Equipment Magic card worth playing is United We Stand. Cards such as Bazoo the Soul-Eater and Goblin Attack Force make it so that Equipment Magic cards aren't as necessary as before.

There's nothing better than seeing your opponent lay out their hand just so that their Mage Power can give a 2000+ ATK boost. That kind of strategy makes me laugh...

Rating: 3.2/5

Overall Mage Power is not a bad Equipment Magic card (Works quite nicely with Hayabusa Knight). It's just that alot of randoms hype it up to the fact that they think it's a broken card. Mage Power is very far from being a broken card...
