Pojo's Yu-Gi-Oh Card of the Day

Mystical Space Typhoon

Card Number - MRL-047

Ratings are based on a 1 to 5 scale

Good 'ole Disenchant (Magic reference).  The ability to whack one particular thing is awful nice.  Thus far, though, the majority of the useful magic and traps get played face down and flipped for a single effect when needed.  Pharaoh's Servant does indeed change this, though, and this card will see more use.  Probably mostly in sideboards to start, but as metagames develop, I think this card will see play in maindecks.

Yonex Cyclone* -- Monday

Introduction: Destroy that Swords of Revealing! Destroy that Equipment card!

Quick Play Magic
Destroy one magic or trap card on the field.

Why should you use it?
*Destroys Magic and Traps
*Quick-Play Magic

Why shouldn't you use it?
*1 card only
*Ultra rare

Reasons: The infamous Cyclone card, that has gotten so many comments when it
was just named! This card can destroy any Magic and Traps, of course, when
thier face-down. This card may seem confusing, but the best way to say it
would be, Equipment Cards, Continuous Cards, and cards that stay on the
field for 1 turn or more like Swords of Revealing Light, you can use on it.
Remember that this card does NOT stop cards like Raigeki, Change of Heart,
and Pot of Greed. It would destroy the card, but would NOT negate the
effect.  Meaning the card would still work. Regardless of this, it can still
take away those pesky Trap Holes and Mirror Force before they activate it
on. What makes this card sweeter is that it's a Quick- Play Magic, which
means you can play it from your opponent turns. Set of course, can NOT be
played from hand on Opponent's turn. The only 2 bad thing is that it only
destroys one, which still isn't bad and it's an Ultra Rare, which means it
is harder to get and cost more.

Rating: Major staple card! This card would get a 4.0. This card does not
deserve any higher, for it just counters stuff, but doesn't really do much
destruction, unlike Noblemen of Extermanation.

Conclusion: Cyclone this card into every deck!

*Here we go again. Cyclone morphed into the english name as Mystical Space
Typhoon. How did Upperdeck turned Cyclone to Mystical Space Typhoon. In a
duel, no one would say "I'm going to Mystical Space Typhoon you!" Upperdeck
could have atleast given it Typhoon and just cut if off there. But no, they
had to make it a very long name, and make it a Ultra Rare. The Japanese
wasn't even a Rare, it was only a common! Also with a very unexepected
release of Pharoh Servant 1 month before it's scheduled is insane. This is
going to kill the game, unless Upperdeck doesn't something about it.

Monday - Mystical Space Typhoon

For those of you that still use De-Spell and Remove Trap, I believe this is the card for you.  This card is literally both of them in one.  I don't see how you can go wrong using this thing.  I just have one gripe......its rarity.  Why must Upper Deck constantly have half the cards in a set be Rare or higher?  Methinks they should either go back to sports cards or realize they already have enough money...

Score: 3.9 (well, I found another gripe, they should have left the name as Cyclone)

Mystical Space Typhoon - Magic Ruler

One of my favorite magic cards in the game. This quick play magic card can destroy 1 magic or trap card on the field please keep in mind that it doesnt negate the magic or trap card though. It just destroys it. This card is a killer to swords of revealing light, magic jammer, mirror force etc.. Playing this face down then your opponent activates swords then you MST it and their swords is gone and youll be attacking next turn. And you didnt even have to waste a jammer on it either. This card is perfect for getting rid of that 1 face down card you dont like. If you dont wanna heavy storm well heres your second choice. This is a powerful magic card.

Mystical Space Typhoon

This card is slowly getting better and better, not because of it's ability
alone but also because of the current environment. It's starting to look
like there are going to be a ton of trap card in the environment and maybe
more decks will begging to focus around a certain time of monsters and Field
card. That means there will be more and more Magic and Trap cards that can
hurt you and that you have to be prepared for.

Running Heavy Storm main is not going to do it anymore... not alone anyways.
You need more cards that can destroy trap cards or you'll never have a
change against your opponents. Your options are rather limited too, you can
either use this card or go old school with Trap Master. O.0

Expect to see the value of this card increase in the near future.

Quick Play Magic
Destroy one magic or trap card on the field.

What can I say? I have seen decks based around the strategy of destroying Traps/Magic using this card. It is simply good. Being able to destroy that face down Trap Hole or Magic Jammer before it can screw up your plans is a major advantage. You could also use this to destroy an equip or Field card.

The disadvantage is that it only destroys one Magic/Trap card. I would prefer a well timed Heavy Storm to this. Every card slot in your deck counts. Regardless, Mystical Space Typhoon is great in disrupting your opponents plans early game giving you the head start, or late game destroying a crucial card that is putting them in a good position, such as Swords of Revealing Light.
