Dr. Vellian Crowler

Storming the halls of the Duel Academy, Dr. Vellian Crowler intimates most of his students. Dr. Crowler expects his best from his students, and does not permit any slacking. Because of this, he instantly dislikes Jaden Yuki. After Jaden defeated him in an Entrance Duel, Crowler was bound and determined to get the "Slifer Slacker" expelled. He had set up many duels, hired dueling 'hit men,' but none of his plans worked. As the series unfolds, Crowler eventually gains 'some' respect for Jaden.

Dr Crowler is an experienced Duelist. He is currently 36, and has spent 9 years in 'Duel School.' He is proud of his PhD and insists that you call him Doctor at all times. Dr Crowler runs a very well thought out, powerful Ancient Gear Deck. During the first two seasons of Yu-Gi-Oh GX, Crowler has a duel record of 2-2. His first duel was against Jaden, but he underestimated him and lost. His second duel was against the Shadow-Rider Vampire, Camula. Although he fought elegantly and defended his students gallantly, he was overcome by the shadows and was beaten. His third duel was to decide the outcome of Chumley's future career. He defeated Chumley without a sweat, but also let Chumley follow his career dream. His forth and most recent duel was with the temporary vice principle, Napolean. Crowler actually defended the Slifer dorm in this duel, and was victorious.

Also, in the Second Season, Dr Crowler was promoted to Principle, when Chancellor Sheppard had to take a temporary leave.

Dr Crowler is also known as Chronos de Medici in the Japanese version. - Josh
