TORONTO WELCOMES Yu-Gi-Oh! CHAMPIONSHIP SERIES

First North American Premier-Level Event to
Feature Cards from Generation Force

EL SEGUNDO, CA (September 9, 2011) – After weeks of preparation, Duelists are ready to invade Canada’s “Queen City” for a shot to win fame and prizes at the Yu-Gi-Oh! CHAMPIONSHIP SERIES (YCS) event in Toronto, Canada on September 17th – 18th at the Hilton Toronto Airport Hotel & Suites.  This premier-level Yu-Gi-Oh! TRADING CARD GAME (TCG) event, from Konami Digital Entertainment (Konami), runs simultaneously with a 2011 YCS event in Guayaquil, Ecuador.

Hoping to go down in Yu-Gi-Oh! TCG history, seasoned Duelists as well as optimistic novice players are making the journey to Toronto, to battle hundreds of skilled competitors. All Duelists will vie for the chance to advance to the Final Round on Sunday for the opportunity to Duel for the title of Champion.

Duelists will unleash new strategies and Decks at the first YCS event since a new Yu-Gi-Oh! TCG World Champion was crowned at the Yu-Gi-Oh! World Championship in Amsterdam earlier this month (or last month TBD). YCS Toronto marks the first premier-level event after the release of the latest Forbidden and Limited list and will be the first YCS where cards from Generation Force are deemed legal for play.

Pre-registration for YCS Toronto will run from 3:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. on Friday, September 16th and continue promptly at 8:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 17th.   Upon registering, Duelists will receive five Generation Force booster packs for participating in Konami’s YCS Toronto.  Round One will start at 10:00 a.m. and the Top 16 or 32 YCS finishers (depending on attendance) will earn invitations to participate in the 2012 World Championship Qualifier.

Event Address:

Hilton Toronto Airport Hotel & Suites
