KONAMI DIGITAL ENTERTAINMENT, INC. SELECTS LIMA, PERU AS THE HOST CITY OF ITS ELITE Yu-Gi-Oh! TRADING CARD GAME WORLD  CHAMPIONSHIP QUALIFIER 2010 FOR SOUTH AMERICA June 26-27 

Hundreds of Duelists from around the South Continent to attend this premier Yu-Gi-Oh! TRADING CARD GAME event

One of two World Championship Qualifying Events to be held in June

LIMA, Peru  (May 6, 2010) – Nestled in the valleys of the Chillon, Rimac and Lurin rivers, Peru’s capital, Lima, is often referred to as the City of Kings. During the last week in June, there will be a new “king” annointed after Konami Digital Entertainment, Inc.’s (KDE) Yu-Gi-Oh! TRADING CARD GAME (TCG) World Championship Qualifier 2010 is complete and a new champion has been crowned.  KDE is pleased to announce that it will bring its Guinness World Record best-selling Yu-Gi-Oh! TRADING CARD GAME (TCG) to the Centro de Convenciones Atlantic City.  Hundreds of players representing ten South Continental countries are expected to attend and vie for the coveted title of Continental Champion and the opportunity to compete in the World Championship in the United States in July.  The “new” king of the Yu-Gi-Oh! TCG will rule Latin America with the other Champion from the Central Latin American World Championship Qualifier held in Guadalajara, Mexico in June. 

“We are thrilled to be having such a prestigious event, the World Championship Qualifier in Lima.  With so many skilled Duelists traveling in from countries such as Uruguay and Venezuela we expect a fierce two days of competition,” said Yumi Hoashi, Vice President for Konami Digital Entertainment, Inc. 

“Konami Digital Entertainment, Inc. has given many Yu-Gi-Oh! TCG Duelists the chance to compete in a prestigious event by offering two World Championship Qualifier locations in Latin America, here in Lima and earlier in Guadalajara, Mexico,” commented Giancarlo Germany, Devir’s Latin America and the Caribbean Organized Play Manager.  “We thank KDE for their continued dedication to the thousands of Yu-Gi-Oh! TCG enthusiasts in Latin America.”

Cost:                Entry into the Yu-Gi-Oh! TCG World Championship Qualifier 2010 is FREE for Duelists who have qualified for the event through official KDE Regional or National Qualifiers.

       1st place – Travel and accommodations to Yu-Gi-Oh! TCG World Championship to be held in Long Beach, CA (USA); Trophy; Dark End Dragon Prize Card; Complete set of Gold Series 3 and a complete set of Super Rare Yu-Gi-Oh! Additionally, all players will receive a pack of World Championship Qualifiers 2010 Card Sleeves and a World Championship Qualifier 2010 Game Mat.

The Lima World Championship Qualifier will also offer exciting Yu-Gi-Oh! TCG public events for both Saturday and Sunday which include Win-A-Mat tournaments, Pegasus League: Deck Challenge events, and ATTACK OF THE GIANT CARD! for all ages, and Dragon Duel tournaments for Duelists aged 12 and under.  There will also be 2011 Regional Qualifier tournaments on Sunday.
