UPPER DECK ENTERTAINMENT INVITES

Yu-Gi-Oh! TRADING CARD GAME DUELISTS TO
SNEAK A PEEK AT RISE OF DESTINY

Sneak Preview Weekend Tournaments Offer First Glimpse of New Yu-Gi-Oh! TCG Set

CARLSBAD, Calif. – October 21, 2004 -- Upper Deck Entertainment (UDE), the authorized dealer of Yu-Gi-Oh! TRADING CARD GAME, is proud to offer Yu-Gi-Oh! TRADING CARD GAME (TCG) Duelists an early look at Rise of Destiny -- the upcoming expansion set for the wildly popular Yu-Gi-Oh! TCG. The Sneak Preview Weekend, with tournaments occurring on the weekend of November 20–21, will give both new and veteran players the opportunity to be among the first to play with brand-new cards. Duelists can grab the new Ultimate Rare Cards and see exciting new Machine-type monsters like Perfect Machine King!

Celebrating in over twenty North American cities, the Rise of Destiny Release Celebration Sneak Previews will give Duelists a chance to get their hands on these new cards before they are available anywhere else. Duelists will compete to win awesome prizes, and receive free Shonen Jump products just for showing up!  To find a Rise of Destiny Sneak Preview tournament near you, visit ude.com/yugiohpreview.

Rise of Destiny ties the old together with the new, bringing back many monsters in new forms. Many of these monsters currently appear on the Yu-Gi-Oh! animated series, allowing Duelists to create decks and themes seen on television. With nine new Machine-type monsters, support for Harpie Lady decks, and anti-Trap monsters to combat your opponent’s traps, the world of the Yu-Gi-Oh! TCG will never be the same.

Among Duelists, the demand for booster sets has continued to increase as more Duelists compete in the Duelist League and Hobby Store Leagues, held in neighborhood hobby stores across North America.  Currently, more than 600,000 duelists are registered in more than 6,000 stores across North America.

In addition, the Yu-Gi-Oh! TCG Collectible Tins were recently featured as an “All Star” in this year’s holiday edition of Toy Wishes Magazine.  In recent years, the Yu-Gi-Oh! TCG earned top spots on the hottest Christmas wish lists at KB Toys, and was listed as one of the most highly sought-after toys in Toy Wishes Magazine, Business Week, Wall Street Journal, and USA Today.
