111 Control Deck Peter Edge Yu-Gi-Oh Mall Tour Mall of America Bloomington, MN Feb. 22, 2004 Okay. My brother, My brother’s friend, and I left to go to the mall tour at the Mall of America at 11:20 on Sunday. I was very excited and knew I was going to do well. Anyways, here is my deck. So, we got there at about 11:40. As If a miracle, the line wasn’t very long (booyah!). Of course, we had to fill out a slip of paper to get in. So I looked around, and was surprised... There were TONS of n00bs trading and dueling there. Well, I looked at my time card, it said 1:45 so I had some time to kill. I looked around for trades. Jeez, none knew what was a fair trade. I tried getting a pandemonium for my brother’s Archfiend Deck. This one guy was like,”How about pandemonium for Lily?” and I’m like “howabout not?” and walk away. I traded for some good stuff like D.D. Warrior Lady (for my future Chaos Deck w00t!) and Call of the Haunted and Snatch Steal. I also got 2 thousand eyes restrict for my scientist. I then did a fun duel against a collector guy. Me vs. Collector Guy (fun duel) Okay, this guy had an oldschool beatdown with summoned skull and the like, except he had slate warrior and other 1900s too. I started disrupting his hand with don, but somehow he comes back (summoned skull, maybe?) so I fibered. After that, I beat him down w/ Slate. I think I did some other fun duels, but I can’t remember them >_< Anyway I went and got in line for the tournament and started talking with another guy. After a little while he asked if I go to tournaments. I said, “Yeah at Outpost 2000 & Beyond.” And he was like,” Really? Do you know Miles? He wins almost every week.” I replied,”Yeah I know Miles.” Miles, if you are reading this, the guy told me to tell you “Glitch said hi.” Whatever. I went in and they started the tourney.Dang, only 2 rounds. Round 1 Me vs. Nooby We started the duel, and I started disrupting her hand/field. So then she summoned griggle in defense, but I let It slide, because she didn’t know the rules. At the end of her turn she said,”Okay, now I gain 3000 life points.” I’m like “what?!?!?” and she replied by saying “thats what Griggle says!” (Griggle says ‘when this card is face-up on the field, the owner gains 3000 LP when control shifts to the opponent) I just said, “It means control shifting like change of heart!” She thought it meant control of the board shifting, at the end of your turn. So we called a judge over, and he read griggle and went on her side. Weird, the judges were as clueless as the n00bs, lol! Upperdeck, if you are reading this, (which I dought), look into better judges for next years tour. Oh well, I beat her anyway. Round 2 Okay, this kid was slightly more experienced. Well, I yata- locked him with D.D. Warrior Lady and yata out. So, the upperdeck guy made me sign a “winners wall”, gave me a MFC pack (I got Spell Shield type 8),and a card to get into the millennium puzzle area, but I was supposed to go there in an hour or something so I did some more trades and then a little kid challenged me. I thought ‘Oh no, he’s going to want to play no tributes,2000 LP.’ Actually, he was about 5 but he knew all the rules. He used an altered Pegasus deck. me vs. little kid All I remember is that I MSTed his f/d Black Illusion Ritual, then beat him down really quickly.(I think with breaker and D.D. lady) Okay, I went to the millennium puzzle area and began my duel against the Duelist Leader. Millennium Puzzle Duel me vs. Kevin (I think, sorry if I got the name wrong) Warrior Deck My first hand was horrible. V-Lord and Jinzo, no low levels. Blech.>_> His turn. I drop offed his card. His first move was marauding and don, then equipping fusion sword murusame blade on the marauding captain.Ouch.I drew pot. played it, drew graceful and something else, played graceful. Then cleared his field somehow, I forgot. I quickly gained advantage. After a few turns I had v-lord out, Jinzo in the grave, and premature and yata in hand. He had a facedown and one card in his hand. I played premature, he was probably expecting Jinzo, but I got back...magical scientist! With Scientists effect I got out balter the terrible , summoned yata, had balter attack the facedown monster and negate the effect, and then yata attacked directly. He forfeited because all he had left was Freed in his hand. WooHoo. Then he gave me a red lanyard and a millennium puzzle necklace for winning. Then I got to sign the “book of duel kings”. I was so excited my signature was all sloppy and looked like a first grader had signed it lol. I wanted to get a new time card and do the tournament again but they were all out of time cards, so I just decided to trade and duel for fun. Okay, so now I took a break and walked to the malls Subway and got a meatball sub for a bit of an early dinner. After that I did some more trading. I traded tin blue eyes+defusion for a Tinzo, then I traded the tinzo to a guy for Airknight Parsath, since I already had a real PSV Jinzo. Then me and the guy who traded me Airknight dueled. Me vs. some person (beatdown) Before we started I saw that this guy had a millenium puzzle too.So I thought that he must be pretty good. So we started and I simply pwned him with hand control. Drop Off really helped this round. I think I might have yata-locked him, I can’t remember. Well, after that I dueled a collector guy who had a deck similar to the guy I fought first. me vs. another collector I summoned scientist for one of my first moves. I scientisted out balter but my opponent and the people watching us said I couldn’t because of balter’s text. Jeez, learn the rules, people. his text just means you can’t use fusion subs. Whatever, they let me do it even though they thought it was illegal. I soon beat him. Next, I went near the puzzle area and saw some guys talking. They looked like they were pretty experienced so I challenged one of them. He wasn’t paying attention but one of his friends said, “Hey, Mikey, the little kid wants to duel you.” Geez, I’m 12. It’s not like I’m THAT little. Oh well, I decided to teach him a lesson. fun duel: me vs. mikey (what do you know? another beatdown) As if teaching him a lesson was that easy.In the first duel, I went first. I started (I think) with a monster f/d and drop off f/d. His turn, drop off. he said, “You run hand control, don’t you?” Well, pretty obvious. At one time or another I had Slate and Breaker (w/ counter) out. He had skilled dark out. I change of hearted his skilled dark, and attacked for 5700. His friends were like , “wow, he’s beating Mikey!” Of course, it was too good to be true.He got his skilled dark back, snatched my breaker, I sort of went in a downward spiral from there. Since we were doing a match, we started the second duel. All I remember from this duel is that I beat him. Sadly, my dad walked up to me and said it was time to leave, so we called it a draw. Okay so thats all. Props and Slops time.
