The Return of Zero Maverick Hunter ZERO Deck Scott Forbes Comic Connection Hamilton, Ontario March 4th, 2004 Cost: $6.00 Prize - Losers - Dark Crisis 2nd - IOC 1st - 2 IOCs Hey Yu-gi-oh fans! I haven't gone to a tourney in about 3 weeks cause of personal stuff but I'm back now and I've got a big @$$ long tourney report! Anyway, let's get to it. Monsters Witch Sangan Don Zaloog x 1 Spirit Reaper x 2 Pyramid Turtle x 2 Archfiend Soldier Gemini Elf Breaker Reflect Bounder Tribe Infecting Virus (Syphilis) Exiled Force Sinister Serpent Fiber Jar Yata Garasu T Monsters Jinzo Vampire Lord Magic 6 Staples MST x 3 Monster Reborn Premature Burial Graceful Charity 3 Hand Killers Traps Drop Off x 3 Imperial Order Call of the Haunted Ring of Destruction Mirror Force Ah, there's my deck. A little bit of a Zombie theme to it, but not too shabby. Anyway, I went with my buds Morris, 'Fro and Crossman (Yes, I do call them that). Well, it's been 3 weeks since I went to a tourney, so I was hoping to do good. First round: Maverick Hunter ZERO vs. Little kid A Didn't catch his name. He sucked. Duel 1 7500-0 Victory - Maverick Hunter ZERO Whew, that was easy. I went first, I drew Graceful, Imperial, Archfiend and two other cards. I did the obvious and got a Mirror force and played 'em face down and summoned Archfiend in attack mode (duh). He plays two cards face down and summons a Giant Orc. Big mistake. He loses his Orc, and plays some stupid thing and I take 500 damage.. I draw Harpie's. I blow up what he has down, nothing spectacular, summon Don and attack his hand. He goes, and sets a monster. I draw Conf and look at his hand. He has 3 cards, and 2 trib monsters so I get rid of the other one. I play Raigeki on his face down card, summon a Breaker and that was game. Duel 2 8000-0 Victory - Maverick Hunter ZERO Geez. EASY. He plays some stupid equip card on his monster (Can't remember what) and I Mirror force it. Everything went downhill for him then. There's not much to tell here. I faced someone easy, I know. Crossman get knocked out first round by Darren, haha. Morris and Fro make it through to. Now off to Duel #2 Second Round: Maverick Hunter ZERO vs. Little kid B Duel 1 4150-0 Victory - Maverick Hunter ZERO Man, another easy match. He does change of heart my Gemini and slams me with it, Gigagiagiag.... whatever it's called, 1850 ATK thing. Afterwards I make him pay with 2 MSTs, A forceful, and a Raigeki. Yata locked afterwards. Duel 2 6150-0 Victory - Maverick Hunter ZERO Fastest duel all day. I ringed his Giagigaogohg.....whatever, I give up. I Yata-locked him turn 2. Easy crap. I got two little kids in a row. Easy, but next round I was against John. I beat John every time, and every time he creams me first duel, and I win the next two. Maybe this time was different.........or maybe not. Third Round: Maverick Hunter ZERO vs. John R. Duel 1 2100-0 Victory - John R. This duel I remember not so well, compared to the others so bear with me. Usually he gets 2-3 Hand Destruction but this time he just sets a monster. I foolishly play Raigeki on his face down witch and he gets something, can't remember. I play Ring and Call face down and attack with Tribe (Only monster). He clears my field and beats me down to the ground. I go and defend myself with Sinister. He draws Graceful and annhilates my hand and I'm done. Duel 2 6200-0 Victory - Maverick Hunter ZERO Second shortest duel of the day. I cleared his face down cards and he slams me with Kycoo. I Dark hole and Yata lock him. Duel 3 3100-0 Victory - Maverick Hunter ZERO This was somewhat close. We exchanged attacks on each other but I finally gain the upper hand with a well timed Ring and he can't recover. Sorry guys, I have a hard time remembering this duel. But I barely win again and he's furious. Now I have to face Fro, the first time I've ever faced him at a tourney. He's beaten Crossman and Morris here, but not me! Hopefully.... Fourth Round Maverick Hunter ZERO vs. The Fro! Duel 1 4700-0 Victory - The Fro Rule #1, never trust the Fro. Rule #2, never let him topdeck, he's a gay topdecker. I had him with a clear field and only V Lord and Jinzo in his hand, he gets change of heart. I hate that guy. He gets Jinzo out, I lose. GRRR!! Duel 2 4000-0 Victory - Maverick Hunter ZERO Ohh, yeah! He gets very few monsters and I blow up his stupid pyramid turtles with Dark Hole and Exiled. He stalls for a while with Spirit Reaper and I kill it with Ring. He gets beaten down, with almost no hand. Too bad for him. Duel 3 300-0 Victory - The Fro GRRR!!! That stupid Fiber Jar! I had that duel! I had complete control for a while and he gains a slight upper hand and Fibers! He gets a Vamp and Pyrmaid turtle. I get one last draw and get Graceful, I draw change, but it leaves him with 300 life! NOOO!!!!! Well, I was out, and I pulled Skill Drain. Gay. Anyway, Morris and Mark dueled in the Semis. Mark, I take my hat off to him. He came up with a completely original deck that's amazingly good. He combines Spell Canceller with Gravity Bind and uses Needle worms and Morphing Jar #1s and uses this card called Tsukoyami to flip them face down and reflip them. Amazing lock deck. Bravo. Anyway, I lost the life sheets to those duels but Mark won duel 1, Morris Yata locked hime 2nd, and Mark won the third, and Morris didn't take a single point of damage. Wow. Anyway, finals. Fro and Mark. Final Round The Fro vs. Mark Henry (aka, the cool judge) Duel 1 10200 - 1500 (Deck out) Victory: Mark Mark uses his lock combo early on and Fro can't use magic and can't attack. Mark eats through his deck and Fro can't stop it. Mark gains life with Cure Mermaids. Duel 2 3400-0 Victory: Fro Fro makes a comeback and stops Mark's combo before it got started. He eliminated Mark's hand and Yata locked him. Not bad. Duel 3 6600-0 Victory - Mark Mark was very close to losing this match, but he regained the field advantage and somehow a Fiber went off. Mark got the better hand and started his lock combo again with Cure Mermaid to heal him. Fro's deck was eaten away. Poor guy. Well, that ends the tourney. Fro pulls crap, Mark pulls Chaos Emperor Dragon. GRR!! That card's cool. Anyway, props and slops Props - CED for looking cool - Mark and his amazing deck - My respectable comeback to the tourney - The banned list is effective soon! YES! No more Raigeki, HFD, IO, Change, Painful, Deliquent, Yata, IFL, Fiber or Cyber! Yay!!
