Name: Kevin D. Dennis Deck style: Wanna be Chaos Tangled Web Tournament Location: Tangled Web Comics Spartanburg SC My deck contains a few bizarre tactics and some cards that made the people at tangled web (which will here on be referred to as The Web) laugh. However I didn’t care I think I earned a measure of respect from them today. Now for my contents: Monsters: Summoned Skull (My first and most reliable card) Jinzo Dark Magician of Chaos Black Luster Soldier Envoy of the Beginning Vampire Lord Witch of the Black Forest (WOBF) Reflect Bounder Thunder Nyan Nyan DD Warrior Lady (DD) Tribe Infecting Virus (T-I Virus) Sangan Fiber Jar Yata-Garasu (love-em or here’re everyone has an opinion and I frankly don’t care what you think) Magician of Faith Don Zaloog Injection Fairy Lily (I-Fairy, and yes I’m still brave enough to run one) Breaker the Magical Warrior Time Wizard (HA Ha ha ha. There all the laughing is over) Cyber jar Jowgen the Spiritualist (One my MVP’s for the day) Spells: Mystical Space Typhoon(x3 also will be referred to as MST) Premature Burial Painful Choice Change of Heart Mirage of Nightmare Dark Hole Raigeki Pot of Greed Monster Reborn Swords of Revealing Light (SORL) Snatch Steal Graceful Charity Harpies Feather Duster Traps: Mirror Force Barrel behind the door Magic Cylinder Call of the Haunted Ring of Destruction My side deck did not play any role in todays tournament so I have chosen to omit it. Now for the day. My good friend Paul was attending his first tournament today so I lent him some staples and we went. We arrived about 10 minutes before the tournament began. I had been gone for several weeks so I was unsure of what type of decks people would be playing now. Therefore I instantly began to scout my competition (once entered). From my observations I saw one control deck, a chaos control, a couple of beat downs, and one guy running a Hungry Burger. At first I had to strain myself not to laugh at the fact that he had a Hungry Burger in his deck, but later I learned that his deck was no laughing matter. Then Dennis( manager and referee) called out the pairings. Round 1: Kevin D. (me) vs. Jo Lee First Duel: You can ask Paul I said, “Well I loose.” I was right. First turn I played Mirage of nightmare and set a def. Monster face down. It was over from there. He depleted my hand and I kept having to draw from the mirage and couldn’t get an MST to save my life. By the time I finally drew one it was over he finished me w/ BLS Envoy. Second Duel: I went first and gracefuled my Summoned Skull and Jinzo into the g-yard. And set my Ring Of Destrution. Then he summoned his tribe and I ringed it. He ended and a drew. I premature my Jinzo from the g-yard and did some damage taking him down to 4000. He used Raigeki and attacked me w/ a witch. I dark holed and reborn my Summoned Skull and DD and finished him off. Third Duel: Total own age. Nothing to report final score for the round Jo 7600 me -400. Ouch Record:0-1-0 Round 2:Kevin D. (me) Vs John Johns deck was bigger than mine, and I had never seen him there before so I wondered if he was new. However after talking for a second I realized he wasn’t. He choose to go second (never had that happen before) So I summoned Don Zaloog and ended. He Snactched my Zaloog and attacked me w/ it and I burnt two from my deck (Thunder Nyan Nyan and Time Wizard).Next turn I feather dusted and got his Destiny Board and Snatch steal the summoned I-fairy, raigeki, atk directly. Pump I-fairy, chained my Barrel Behind the door and knocked him down to 1200 that quick. It was over from there. Duel 2: He started off w/ a face down m/t. Being the kamikaze minded person that I am I summoned WOTBF and attacked then set a m/t. Then he summoned Harpie’s Bro and attacked, which I cylindered. Why I still don’t know. Then I summoned T-I infecting Virus, discard Change of Heart and called Winged beast killing his bro. And attacked. Then he dark holed and placed like 4 cards down. I knew hew as working on his destiny board and I had to be ready so I set fiber Jar and held off my atk. On my next turn I flipped it, and I was right destiny board w/ all kinds of stuff to protect it. I drew T-I virus again. I summoned it attacked directly. Next turn he placed a face down mon. I summoned I-Fairy Lily and destroyed his face down and attacked for the game. Record: 1-1-0 At this point I had a chance to catch up with Paul. He had lost both rounds by Yata-lock. His Invader of Darkness was creating a block in his hand. Round 3: Kevin D. (ME) vs. Brad Brad didn’t seem to confidant going in which gave me some hope. First turn I set Cyber jar and played Painful choice. He sent Time Wizard to my and sent Summoned Skull, Dark Magician of Chaos, and 2 light monster to the g-yard. He killed my Cyber and I got to summon T-I Virus and Don, and he got one monster. So he set a couple of m/t cards. I decided to go for it. Reborn DMC recall reborn and reborn Summoned Skull I snatch stealed his monster and attacked w/ everything I had. Ouch it was game in one blow. Duel 2:I don’t remember how I did, but it involved another painful choice + DMC and finally BLS Envoy for the game. Round 4: Kevin D. (do I really need to type me again) vs. Eric (Hungry Burger man) I couldn’t believe I was actually going to have to face Hungry burger man. I quickly got summoned skull on the field w/ WOTBF and called my yata to go for a quick lock. I ran into a Sinster serpent. Next turn he used raigeki and set anther def. Monster. I summoned Thunder Nyan Nyan and attacked his serpent. 15 minutes later I finally got past the stupid thing, but he then got his Jinzo out and that was game. Duel 2: I don’t remember much except that I won w/ Jinzo, Sangan and Time wizard (hereby proving that I Time wizard is useful. Go figure.) Duel 3: Five minutes left and we were tied. Neither of us planned to win so we initially started out trying to gain a slight advantage and then stalling. Well I dropped that idea real quick and worked him down to 3600 lpts. Then I was sure it was over when he summoned his Chaos Emperor Dragon. I was in trouble. He counted our cards and realized he didn’t have enough to finish me off the blast. (Whew) Next turn I went for broke. I drew Jowgen and summoned him. I discarded my last card in my hand (Sangan) and destroyed his Emperor Dragon. Then his him for 2100. The he dark holed his last card in his hand. Both of us were on the edge of our seat. Finally he drew a card and set it face down. My Envoy was somewhere in my deck and I was praying to draw him because I felt he was my last hope to make the finals. I drew and it was. . .Ring of destruction. I placed it face down and waited. On his turn he drew. Then he played Call of the Haunted and called back Reflect Bounder, with out even thinking I ringed him. Game. We shoke hands and agreed it was the best match either of us had played in a long time. Though at first I may not have taken him seriously, he has earned my respect as an opponent. I look forward to playing him again. Then Dennis make the announcements for the finals. I didn’t make it because of my first loss. Oh well no big deal. I had a ball and made a lot of good trades and had the most fun I’ve had playing Yu-Gi-Oh in months. Next I would like to apologize to anyone who I may’ve quoted wrong of forgotten a move you made or gotten my duels mixed up. However I do believe that everything I’ve said is accurate. Now for Props and Slops. Props: To Eric great Hungry Burger deck. To Dennis and the Tangled Web staff, best tournaments and card shop in South Carolina.
