Deck Synapsis: Wow, this deck size and ratio is such a departure from what is being played in our metagame and what we have become accustomed to since Gemini Elf first powered the speed beatdown!!!! But with the addition of 2 more level 4 1900 attack monsters what could be cut?? Nimbles? Nah..they make Creature Swap so fun and help with a life point advantage and field advantage as well and they take the bite out of those pesky Noblemen of Crossout!! Tomato? Well, I did cut one, but they give nice field advantage too, especially after being Swapped!! I considered siding 1 Don Zaloog...but they work so nicely with Tomato!! So they all had to stay....so I took the other road...and added extra cards....the primary one being a second Creature Swap!! And a second Tribute monster seemed in order too, so I decided to try out the Sphinx...though in hindsight, Airknight with the trample would have worked very nicely with a swapped Nimble or Serpent and might have been a better choice....and so the MFC Luster Dragon and Skilled Dark Magician just got added on as numbers 43 and 44....and then it was tourney time and an opportunity to try a fun and relatively novel deck....

Preliminary Round: (Justin vs Steve)

Steve is pretty new duelist in the store...he started to come regularly about 6 weeks ago...and he did beat the number one player in the store his first time playing in season 4....He ran 2 Penguin Soldiers which gave him a few big clear attacks...but I finally dealt with them to take him down 2 games to one....

Round of 16: (Justin vs Spencer, who played a Gravekeepers deck built by the number 1 player in the store...)

Ow....Gravekeeper's Spear Soldiers and Necrovalley with a 2000 trample attack can be nasty!! But Heavy Storm in both games cut them down to size....but then those 2000 defense swarming Gravekeeper's Spy are equally troublesome!!! Finally I draw Dark Hole in both games!! and end that impasse!! I win 2-0, but it wasn't an easy win. My mom gave him a Terraforming to go with his 3 Necrovalleys later in the tourney...glad I had already played him!!

Quarterfinals (Justin vs Julian who ran Marauding Captains in his beatdown)

I got swarmed a couple of times by the Captain leading Gemini Elves and Goblin Attack Forces....GAF was easy enough to deal with and Creature Swap allowed me take control of those Elves...the Captain himself was easily over powered....I win 2-1 (I think it was 2-1 anyway...)

Semifinals (Justin vs Jason who went pretty much pure trample this week...)

Jason is relatively new in the store too...his dad drives him 45 minutes from NJ to play with us....we met him once at a tourney in NJ and then saw him again at Madison Square Garden at the World Championships and invited him to come up and play with us....he is a good developing duelist, still working on acquiring cards and trying out different decks....his Spears and Airknights were ow-y!!....I Creature Swapped them over to my side and gave him a taste of his own medicine while gaining LPs by destroying my own Nimbles....Creature Swaps made a huge difference in this...another 2-1 hard earned victory!!!

Finals: (Justin vs Chris who was runs the purest beatdown in the store...he runs hand destruction and then helps his own hand with Painful Choice and Mirage of Nightmare...)

Chris has pretty much owned this tournament since Labor Day, except for the time Steve took him out in an early round...and Quickshot (who I did not face today...) took him down once or twice in the final round....he has definitely owned me!!! I have given up on the hand advantage part of the game...Chris and Quickshot are better at it then I am!!! So I just concentrated on field advantage with the Nimbles, Tomatoes and Creature Swap....I can't remember if what details came in what game, but this is approximately what happened....

Game 1....I get out my Jinzo and am feeling good, but he draws Bazoo!! He finally got his own Jinzo out and took a big chuck of LP's and the advantage...but then I reborn his Bazoo and kill it, but he Call of the Haunted it back onto the field!! but I had been holding a Snatch Steal all game(somehow!!) And that ended one game....

Game 2 went to him...more Jinzo trouble....that alien machine attacked through a Gemini Elf to take down my last 500 LPs exactly!!

Game 3...We both use our Rings of Destruction and toast the first 2 summoned monsters...then he struggles for monsters and what he did get I Creature Swapped...I finally power up a Sinister Serpent with a United We Stand for the win!!! I think this is my first win since like June!!!! Geesh!! Yay!!

Props: To my mom for trading Gemini Elf, Gaia the Dragon Champion, Tri-Horned Dragon, Graverobber and Magical Hats for the MFC Luster Dragon....having all those 1900 attackers were the inspiration for this deck!!

Creature Swap rocks!!!

To the dollar store for having cheap munchies!!!

To the store owner, Vince, who hosts the tourneys!!

Slops: I picked 3 LOB for my prize: Hane-Hane, Stop Defense and Two-Pronged Attack!! Well, at least I didn't pull Fusionist!!! doh!!
