Justin Koontz's Harpy Deck

Tournament at the Java Lounge (Even though I really hate coffee)

City: Crossville

State: Tennessee

1st place: 3 LON packs

2nd place: 2 LON packs

3rd place: diddly squat

# of people: Sorry but I don't remember

Well this is my first tournament report so I'll try to make it interesting. This tournament was..well..to say the least interesting. I was expecting a bunch of little kids running around with their hundred card Gate Guardian decks, well there were some but most of them were about my age (I'm 15) This was going to be fun.

My deck is a tribute to my favorite duelist Mai Valentine, I love Mai. My friends knew that when I got My Harpy Ladys out I was pretty well unstopable. So without any further chit-chat here is my Harpy Lady deck and my tournament report.

First match: Me versus Ryan

Lets just say Ryan was not too happy about facing me in the first round, he is one of my good friends and we duel ALOT. He dosen't win all that much againest me and seems to always get seeded againest me in the first round. Well he won rock, papers, scissors (Ginyu Force Style) and chose to go second. Why I will never know. I played shadow of eyes face down and played Harpy Lady in attack mode. Whipped out Elegant Egotist and summoned Harpy Lady Sisters. Ryan never had a chance the only good move he did the entire match was to Change of Heart my Sisters and tribute them for Summoned Skull. Next turn I Raigekied him and revived his Skull and took his remaining life points.

I got a bye in the next round and traded for a Mystical Space Typhoon. Removed Giant Trunade for it and was off to the semifinals.

Semifinal match: Me versus Chris, the Jesus Look-a-Like

Just as I have stated this guy looks like Jesus. So that is really what we call him. Jesus won the coin toss and chose to go first. He played Goblin's Attack Force and passed his turn. I drew my first card, Shield and Sword!!!! I slapped it down and played Harpy Lady in attack mode. Then, once again, I played Elegant Egotist and summoned Sisters. I attacked and then played the card that saved my life, Mystical Space Typhoon, face down. He then played a magic/trap card face down and ended his turn. I got suspicous and flipped Space typhoon and destroyed his.......Mirror Force!!!! Ha Ha, after that turn my Harpys took him to town. He didn't play another monster for the rest of the game.

Took a rest and traded for Jinzo, didn't put him into my deck yet because I had a good Idea for a deck to build around him. So for the rest of the time I waited I showed it off, then I saw who my opponent for the finals was.

Finals match: Me versus Lydia

Oh my God, this was very unexpected!!! There had been some talk at school about a girl who played cards but I would have never guessed that it was Lydia. She is a girl I knew very well because we played the Sailor Moon trading card game together and because she was my best friend!!! We started the match and I could already tell that it wasen't going to go too well for me.

She went first (she found Ginyu Force style rock, paper, scissors to be amusing) and right off the bat I was in trouble. She summoned Relinquished and then Fused him into Thousand Eyes Restrict!!!! This was the first time I had seen the beast and would not be the last, then she played a card face down and ended her turn. I had to go on the attack and kill the Thousand eyed freak, unfortunatly I didn' thave the cards to do it. I played La Jinn in attack mode then called my attack, she flipped her face down card face up.....Mirror Force. Damn, I played a card face down and ended my turn. She then played pot of greed and got who knows what, she revived my La Jinn and Sacrificed it for Jinzo. She attacked with both monsters and seemed amused that her TER did no damage because I was too pathetic to keep a monster on the field long enough for her to absorb it. I got both Harpy Lady and my Sisters out and killed Jinzo with Nuzzled Lady Sisters and then killed Thousand Eyes with Harpy Lady, it didn't even phase her. She then promptly revived her Thousand Eyes and then used Prematural Burial and brought back Relinquished. I was screwed, she absorbed both of my monsters and that was really the end for me. She ended up with 2, yes 2, Relinquisheds on the field to go with Thousand Eyes.

Well that sucked, not as bad as the next day though when the High School unexpectedly posted the standings over the announcements where I dropped from first ranked duelist to second and Lydia went directly to first. She and I are now a dueling force and double duel with each other all the time. Well that is my tournament report and now for my props and slops.

Props:

To my new dueling buddy and closer friend, Lydia

To the Java Lounge for letting us host the tourny there.

Once again to Lydia for giving my my third Summoned Skull (yes GIVING)

Slops:

To my sucky LON packs (Nuvia the Wicked and Mask of Dispel)

To Lydia's great packs (Gemini Elves)

Thousand Eyes Restrict

Relinquished

Thousand Eyes Idol

Black Illusion Ritual

Polymerization
