Main purpose of the side deck is to counter exodia, with a bit of beatdown hate too.
Round 1 Individual: Me vs. Kid with 250 card deck
In the first duel I slaughtered him, but then in the second duel he managed to throw up a semi-good defense and almost decked me before I beat him
Round 2: Me vs. Eric (new kid)
He was a bit harder; I had helped him assemble a deck this morning and had even lent him some of my cards, it obviously helped because he made it past the first round. This time he lasted a while, but I think I managed to beat him both times before he got relinquished or morphing jar #2 out.
Round 3: Me vs. Yata-Garasu Deck
This guy had an awesome deck. In the first duel he took out my life points the old-fashioned way, I think he still had over half of his when he beat me. In the second duel it was a bit closer until he played delinquent duo and some good magic card which I magic jammered, I had no hand, he attacked with yata-garasu, I played waboku, and I drew: A MAGIC CARD!! Then he attacked with yata-garasu again and I resigned. He went on to become tourney champion
Finals: Me vs. Kid that slaughtered me Last week
This kid’s deck had not 1 common card in it! Last week he had malevolent nuzzlers as commons and that was it, I guess he took them out for something; well, It was a mistake for him, because I had put nuzzlers and megamorph in, even though he had stronger monsters and good traps he couldn’t stand up to my equipped monster cards; second duel I had side-decked in 2 4-starred ladybug of doom to counteract his 4-star beatdown, unfortunately he got out a summoned skull and took out my ladybug, then attacked 1 or 2 more times for the game; oh well, now I knew what he had taken out the nuzzlers for, and looking back I think I won because his deck didn’t have the speed that it had last tournament; 3rd duel was a repeat of the first pretty much, so I took 3rd place and he took 4th.
Tag Team: We got second place, it was almost time for the shop to close so we only played 1 duel instead of best 2 out of 3; 1st game my sister and I played Eric and some giant germ deck; 2nd game we played Jason, the card rulings Guru, and a friend of his, my sister almost decked herself but managed to take down their life points with 2 cards left in her deck; 3rd and final duel we lost, they finished us off with a cannon soldier because my sister locked down everyone but herself with gravity binds and they just kept cannon soldiering everything
