Back to one of my classic decks on the last days of the third season of my career in Yu-Gi-Oh!, tournament style. My light deck. My standby. With LOD comes a slew of really great light cards. Thunder Nyan Nyan, which are my Geminis, Airknight Parshath, the super-swordbeast-and-sorcerer-in-one, and Asura Priest, my -other- pseudo-raigeki. I have 3 dark holes, and 4 raigekis, like what! Heheh. Anyhow, this deck was made to forget about metagame, forget about beatdowns, forget about anti-beatdown, and forget about anti-anti-beatdown. Just... back to the basics. Thwap your opponent hard, and thwap your opponent fast. Make them handless. Decimate them. Take them down. Whatever. Just have fun. And if on the way you should encounter slews of fun monsters to destroy, do so without fail. Or else, you'll get sucked into... the Abyss of Stars. $6 to enter TP3 pack for entering, 3 for the championship. Round 1: Voltaire vs. --- Whoa. A bi. Or by. Whatever, I don't know how to spell, ;P. I check out the competition. Alan's here. K-Force is here. In what is close to full force, too. Many, like Kevo Kaiba, Bandit Keif, Alan and Marcus join the tourney. Some don't. Meh. I won't let that heart-pounding distract me. I ask Serf who I'm going up against at round 2. The winner between Jeff(Keif) and Edwin. I'm thinking: Oh, crap. I'm going against Jeff second round. Well... history proves otherwise. Round 2: Voltaire(Eternal) vs. Edwin(???) Whoa. To my ETERNAL surprise, Bandit Keif is defeated. A wrong move on his part by putting his Gemini Elf in defense mode. Spear Dragon clinched it. Man, I guess that's what being slightly unprepared for new metagame can get you. Man, I'm going against the man who has taken on the legend, and lives to tell of it. What does history have in store for me? Meh, no matter. I'll take down the man who took down the giant. Is he going down, or is my big talk going to get me creamed? First round, he gets 2 big hits in really fast with some beatdown monster and Jinzo. Do I give up, cracking under pressure? As Joseph would say, "NEVER!" I snatch his Jinzo and run with it. He whacks it with a big black hole. Hmmm... for betraying him, he shoots Jinzo in the head. Ouch. Whatever, I still did enough damage with Jinzo. Meh. My turn. Heheh. Hey Jinzo, come back here. KAPOW! Next turn, I special summon the Soul and whack some more. In a few turns, his hand is down to nothing and he's playing blind. My calculated attack wins!!! Flash! Bang! Ouch, my eyes!!! @_@ I guess my light is just too... intense, too different from what I'm used to playing these days. He uses a flashy super-quick beatdown and starts to take me down slowly. Whoa. I'm not going to give up. Fissure your stupid Kycoo. Attack your life. Ack! Another one? What? MST my Sparks? NOOOO!!!! I'm no giant, but I know when I'm being taken down. WTF?!? Jinzo? Kycoo? GAH!! Draw... my... last... card... *sigh* ._. Torrential Tribute? Gah! It sucks to get PWNED. Somebody must've turned down the dimmer switch on my deck... it ain't that weak, is it? Or maybe it's because even with the hot sun out, I'm dueling in the shade. Man, I think that's it. My forces are getting an invisible -400 and his are gaining +500. Meh, but excuses don't cut it. This is my story, so it's time to cut the chees-- err, that is... cut the crap. Even if my forces are weakened, I can still take his. And that's exactly what I do. I steal his monsters. I even tribute his monster to bring mine out. What up now? I even get to use my pseudo-raigeki a couple of times. Thwap! Wow, draw power is incredibly awesome. He sets a monster, I hesitate, and I thwap. Draw. He's probably only 1 turn from losing. He sets something. Thwap? Yeah! I guess I must be lucky. I might start buying lottery tickets soon... gwahahahaha... ...ehem. Round 3: Voltaire(Eternal) vs. Brandon(The King of Hearts) Not armed this week with an anti-anti-beatdown, can I still take out his deck, or will it leave me down and out, handless and without recourse? Myabe I should find a hiding place, so he can't take revenge. Oh wait, I can't. The light would just emanate from my deck of cards and he would find me and take me down. Gah, my luck must be running thin. Hearts or no hearts, this duel will go to the better player. The Heartless are watching our duel from afar. If I lose, then light will diminish, but if the King of Hearts loses, then the Heartless can take over. To the best duelist it is, then. I guess I'm not the better duelist. I lose this one hard and fast. He clears the field, whacks my hand, and removes my cards from the grave. Whoa. And I'm not even ready yet. Whack! Whack! Whack! He does it again, only this time, even faster. His white hats and stuff take over. Then Parshath comes in and he starts taking me down, tank-style, like an invincible tank walking all over a field of daisies. This is about the time we get free promotional Hulk figurines, so I guess this is the best way to put it: "HULK SMASH!!!" Yes. Hulk does smash. He smashes through my man-made lightbulbs like... I dunno, like cheese. Still having a chance to redeem myself, I try not to give up hope. Being smashed on isn't fun, but I'm determined to at least try to give him a thwacking back. No revenge can be completed if he doesn't take it. 2-0. HAH! I tribute YOUR monster. And again. Penguin Soldier? -_- I wish I could turn big and green, then I would go beserk and destroy all my pet peeve YGO cards: Scapegoat, Nimble Momonga, Troop Dragon, Kuribo, Penguin Soldier... basically any little creature that prevents damage. Thwack!!! Bounce. Drop. Meh, my monsters don't stay on very long, and I'm rendered handless, helpless and stupefied. Meh. Guess what? He DOES pull a 2-0 on me. ;P Tournament Highlights: -I played Jeff today. ;) *twinkly eyes* -I *ROASTED* Donald's bird... after being pecked to death about 80 million times -I made $60 selling 3 cards. -After selling Lily to Joseph, I got stabbed to death... ;) -Placed 14th at the store, putting me behind only ->2<- players who quit this season. What's up Nick T, Melvin. You guys are still 4th and 6th respectively. Meh, this season's been way too inconsistent. Cons: -I don't know if it was during the tournament or after, but I seem to have misplaced my Mirror Force. Meh. -Voltaire Abaya(Eternal) -Thunderv11@yahoo.com -Note: Shout out to all you duelists at A World of Books. Heheh. And Serf, you know you still have 1142 points? What the heck? Heheh. It's been a great season, don't ever quit. NEVER!!!
