Pre-Tournament:

Me and my friend Jesse get to the shop about an hour early so we can sign up. These little kids ask me to team duel with them so I accept. After I get through with them Jesse and I go get a bite to eat. I then practice dueled a few people. With about 10 minutes to go I trade my Thousand Eyes Restrict for a Ceasefire. I felt kinda ripped off at first, but that card really came through for me finding a permanent spot in my deck.

1st Round: Kid Echo (me) vs. Gus (mixed up deck)

The basic newb first rounder. He had good cards, but they were to jumbled. I mean… This kid plays Toons, Fusions, and Rituals in the same deck. Needless to say I murder this kid with about 6500 left in the first duel. My Tolls  and Chain Energy do him in, and my Ceasefire comes in hitting cleanup. He did scare me in the 2nd duel when he had a Manga Ryu Ran and a Toon Summoned Skull on the field. But once again my Ceasefire comes through in the clutch and finishes off his LP leaving me at 3200.

2nd Round: Kid Echo vs. Brian (semi beat down)

I dueled this kid before the tourney. I beat him quite handily, but after the duel I heard him telling some kid that I was OK. What?? OK?? I put my heart into my deck!! That’s it… I’M GONNA MURDER THIS GUY!!

I start of fast with my burn spells but then his Goblin Attack Forces start running over my defense monsters. I just hit him with a Cyber Jar and everything’s back to normal. Then I throw out my Tolls and Chain Energies to finish him off wit about 6200 left.

In the 2nd duel he gets out a Jinzo (YIKES!!). He attacks my WoI first getting sent back to his hand. Then he gets him out again but he attacks my MEB. I then reborn Jinzo and hit him for 2400. He plays Mon Reborn and tribs the mon he brought back for Summoned Skull and kills Jinzo. I then Change of Heart his Skull and hit him with it. He’s at 100 LP. I look in my hand and WHAT DO YA KNOW it’s an Ookazi. Game… Set… Match.

3rd Round: Kid Echo vs. Dylan (no idea what kinda deck I wasn’t paying attention)

I sit down to duel to duel this kid and his friend is right next to him trying to trade for his Poly. I’m like, “This is very rude, let’s finish this kid off so he can trade.” I start shuffling my deck and the kid asked me if I have Imperial Order (he was looking to trade for it right in the middle of a duel!!) I tell him no, only to use it later. While I’m still shuffling my deck he thinks that he see’s a Gate Guardian. He’s yells, “YOU PLAY GATE GUARDIAN!!” I look at him and smile, and tell him yeah. Humph… kids… Well I spend the whole duel messing with this kid and I forgot everything that happened. All I remember is that this kid came and asked me to trade him 2 Nobleman of Crossout for his Imperial Order. I frown and tell him I only have 1. Oh Well.. I defeat Dylan with 2 Tolls on the field, I think…

4th Round Semifinals: Kid Echo vs. Jose or something like that ( weenie beat down)

This murders me in the first duel hitting with some 1800 mons. He beats me swiftly with about 5200 left.

Here’s where my mistake came… I forget to go to my side deck where I have 3 Gravity Binds. It would be my first and last mistake of the day. As soon as the duel starts I think about it, but it’s too late. I fought valiantly, but in the end he wins with 1200 LP to spare.

Props:
