Call Of The Haunted

Round 1: Me vs. Kyle (Deck Type: Beatdown/Fiend)
My younger brother was my first opponent. His deck contains a lot of powerful cards. Thankfully for me, I had a well placed Michizure which helped to clear his field and I reborned two of my witch's apprentices and also played my La Jinn. My 7 tools kept me safe until the end of the first match. The second match saw my Mirror Force clear his field this time and my Barrel Dragon kept any Flip effects from occuring for the rest of the match. 2-0

Round 2: Me vs. Dan (Deck Type: 1700/1800 ATK beatdown)
This young duelist had La Jinn's and Darkfire Soldier everywhere. I held off playing my field card so I could lie out Wall Of Illusion to buy me some time. I then put my WOTBF into attack mode w/ my Michizure on the field. He currently had 4 monsters. He attacked it with his only tributed monster, Summoned Skull that I then destroyed with my trap. I used the Witch's effect to gain my Fiend Megacyber, which I special summoned, on the field. I then played my Dark Elf and my Wall Of Illision into attack mode and played my field card. I wiped out his monsters and won the first match. The second match I drew my Raigeki and was able to reborn enough monster to do enough damage so I could then sacrifice them all to Cannon Soldier's effect. 2-0

Round 3: Me vs. Jeff (Deck Type: Severe Stalling)
This was the first stall deck I ran into. It ran everything from Messenger Of Peace, to Gravity Bind, to Gravekeeper's Servant. The first match went through almost my entire deck with both fields full. I first sacrificed all but one monster to Cannon Soldier, leaving my Set Morphing Jar #2 on the field. He attacked and was then forced to find 5 monsters. 15 cards later, his field was full...Raigeki! I used all 3 of my reborn cards to get my Barrel Dragon, Cannon Soldier and La Jinn on the field. Attacked and sacrificed. The second round saw his playing the same cards, except after I Heavy Stormed them, we started playing pass with my Barrel Dragon. Die, Reborn, Die, Reborn, Snatch Steal, Die Reborn. After a while, I got sick of it, called both my Dark Elves and ran him down. 2-0

Round 4: Me vs. Sean O'Brien (Deck Type: Defensive)
I got Sean introduced to the game last month, so I was curious to see how he had been doing. Unfortunately for him, both of my Relinquished were tired of sitting on the sidelines and decided to make appearances. For the most part, they were used as tools to absorb his occasional Wall Of Illusion or Labyrinth Wall. My Imperial Order also saved me by blocking his Mystical Space Typhoon from destroying my Mirror Force in round two, which proceeded to wipe him out.
2-0

Semi-Final Match: Me vs. Josh (Deck Type: Flip-Effects)
Josh's deck was full of effect and flip effect monsters. Man-Eater, Cyber Jar, Hane-Hane, etc. After he proceeded to send back every offense I threw, I played my Sword Of Revealing Light to give me enough time to pull my Monster Reborn to resurrect his discarded Barrel Dragon and it helped me eliminate his monsters before they could flip. The second round he played a La Jinn and a series of flip effects. I played my Wall Of Illusion and then my Relinquished who proceeded to absorb all his flip monsters. 2-0

Final Match: Me vs. Sean Duffy (Deck: Lord Of D./Crab Turtle deck)
Sean had more high-level monsters in his deck then I've seen in anyone's. His first turn, he was able to play Dark Hole, Darkfire Soldier and Crab Turtle which helped his run me down the first time. The second round I played my Swords of Light which flip his Man-Eater, making it destroy itself (always fun). Then, I pull a series of power cards (La Jinn, Dark Elf, Summoned Skull). After I squashed him the second round, he was able to pull the same first move he did the first round. Thankfully, I got my Relinquished, absorbed his Turtle, then played my La Jinn to clear out his soldier. My Imperial Order kept him from using his Sword Of Light long enough to win me the match. 2-1

The tourney was an unofficial one, so I got 4 Pharoah Servant's packs, one of which included a nice Thousand-Eyes Restrict.
Man, I wish the store would get off its butt and make it official. They follow all the official ruling, but aren't done anything to make themselves official.
