The last straw was when Keif and ZeenO poured gasoline on the Disruptor and set it on fire. But little did they know that from the ashes of the Disruptor a new menace was born. Just like a Phoenix, FlashFire rose from the ashes of the Disruptor. 1st match Opponent: Alan (Burn) Alan is a cool guy. He always has a good attitude and is funnier than Jim Carey. He always makes jokes and even puts a whoopee cushion on people’s chairs if they are not paying attention. And he likes to say weird, random things in the middle of duels. Today was no different, as he yelled out “Exchange!”, “Die!” and my favorite “I love you!” Alan takes me to the limit, three duels. I win the first, taking him by surprise since he didn’t know that the Disruptor was no more. He wins the second after focusing all his energy and power and channeling it to his fingers. He kept drawing good card after good card and smelling his fingers. The third duel was a classic where he was at 100 and I was at 850. I summoned Cannon Soldier in attack mode and he used Solemn Judgment. He now has 50. He Monster Reborns a Cannon Soldier, but I had Attack and Receive waiting for him. He didn’t attack, and next turn, I drew Just Desserts. End, then I flipped over my trap and force fed him some Just Desserts for the win. 2nd match Opponent: Bandit Keif (FX Control Deck) Well, lookee here, Serf vs Keif again. Hmmm, same lineup. Of course it is. If you keep winning, the best eventually play the best. So guess what? Serf vs Keif, part 500! Keif came ready to duel, wearing his robe with hood and his Oakley sunglasses. I asked him why he was wearing his shades for, since it was cloudy and gloomy today. He responded that he was under Marik’s mind control and had to hide his funky eyes! First duel, I chip away at Keif’s LP using Attack and Receive, with an occasional well-timed Just Desserts. Maybe he had an off day, but I beat him with 5400 LP remaining (which is very rare). Second duel, we start out by summoning a bunch of Sangans and using Multiply on them to cover the field. He eventually ran out of Sangans and I was able to attack his LP directly. I followed it up with some burn cards (the FIRE) and his LP couldn’t handle the heat and went down to zero. After my victory, Keif took off his sunglasses and tried to scare me with his funky eyes. I then pushed a button and he fell through his chair into a tunnel and took a water slide straight to the San Francisco Bay. 3rd match Opponent: PinayMai (Earth Beatdown) Mai made it to the finals by overwhelming a lot of the other duelists there. She uses a powerful lineup of earth monsters powered up by Gaia. Once she gets her hitters set up with their steroids, its like trying to stand under a waterfall and push it back with your hands, impossible! First duel, my deck takes her by surprise and Flash Assailant (the FLASH) in ATK mode won it for me. Second duel, I felt a little water splattering on me, then it started splashing, next thing I know, the waterfall started and I got washed away. No Flash or Fire this time, just power house Earth monsters beating me down. Someone saw the awesome power of the waterfall and said “It’s like watching two turtles race!” Third duel was close. She knocked me down to 2900 thanks to her reborning my Cannon Soldier and launching monster after monster at me. I was only able to bring her down to 5300. I draw Invader of the Throne and try to take back my Cannon Soldier but she uses Solemn Judgment. That was the turning point because that brought her down to 2650. I draw Flash Assailant (the FLASH) and stall with it for a couple of turn. Then I activate some burn cards (the FIRE) to bring her down to 890. Next turn, I draw Cannon Soldier. Summon…ready…aim…FIRE for the win! It felt good to be the champ again, especially after a long drought. After getting pounded by Keif and ZeenO for months, this win taste oh so good. But I know they’ll be back next week, hungry and drooling at the mouth for revenge. I definitely need to keep an eye on the Saiyan, since defeating them only means they come back stronger. What’s up! to the hardcore Yu-Gi-Oh! gamers at a World of Books, keeping the game going. Get lost! to no one. Nobody has complained of getting their cards stolen in a while. Serf buffserf@yahoo.com
