The first round curse is finally over. Unfortunately for me the card I traded for last week would be the undoing for me this week. On to the tourny.

Match 1

Me vs. Chad

Like the Raider/Jets game, today would not be a good day for anybody named Chad. The hard tuned triple burn deck would give anyone a third degree burn on this drab and cloudy day at World of Books.

This was the first time I played Chad at World of Books and today he would be the first to fall to the triple threat. Sorry there are no scores because I didn't keep track of the life points he did. And to rant on the fact is how are you supposed to keep track of life points, what your opponent did, and still manage to beat him is beyond my understanding. I have to give you props for multitasking. Trick that on to the battle!

1st duel

I had to test him out and see what kind of deck it was. My deck is almost a perfect anti-beatdown deck. He played a lot of defense always putting his cards face down, even the 1800 hitters, why? I don't know. I burned him severely with princess tsurugis and Just desserts. I had to give him board control in order to get the max out of Just desserts. Surprisingly he packed a couple of Princesses and Ookazis too. I thought this was a burn deck, but when he brought out summoned skulls and blue eyes, I knew this was just another beatdown. Handled him with GB (gravity bind) and Messenger of Peace (MoP) all the while burning left and right.

2nd duel

He figured out what my deck was and switched some cards with his side deck. I anticipated everything, break out all your Heavy storms, Giant trunades, MST, dust tornados, IT DOESN'T MATTER! The fact is I have a counter to every beatdown's solution. Even though I don't like the card myself, I binded him once more. Then like a pot roast, I slow roasted him, then I turned on the heat by my favorite combo, Cyber jar, Just desserts, Ceasefire, all the while eating my Taco bell burrito. I give him props, he will be a good duelist in time when he comprehends the metaphysics of the game. ( I don't know what I am talking about, I'm just BSing)

Next match

Me vs. Serf (currently 2nd at World of Books in rankings I think)

This would be a hard one playing against the 2nd ranked at the store. Lets just say, when he plays a card...say Solemn Judgement, I decent card he would be able to play it, and hype it up so that other kids in the store will buy all of the SJs. I wasn't scurreedd of this guy though. I had my run ins with him. He's one of the people that was able to bust through the impentrable defense. Expecting a disruptor deck, I packed it with one more gravity bind.

1st duel

I got my ___ handed to me served with a side of man eaters. Like I said in my intro, I was at a healthy 8000, but I SJed his raigeki. I would've just taken probably 2600, but I cost myself 4k and ended getting killed by Cannon Soldier.

2nd duel

I told Serf "If I can't win, I am atleast going to take you to game three, down to the wire!" I backed my word when I hit him hard and fast with Soldier of stone and Princess Tsurugi. Then the finishing touch, I played my favorite card that was just made legal..."Exchange". I put everything on the field and gave him my man eater bug while I took his Monster Reborn. Got back my Cannon Soldier and gave him a drive by that would scare foo's in Oakland.

3rd duel

This duel would be down to the wire. It was not exciting in the beginning, but when our life points got to around 3900 (him) and me 1100 or so. I never knew attack and receive would be so powerful. He attacked my cannon soldier with soldier of stone. Him -100. He plays Attack and receive. I lose 700 +300 because he had another in the grave yard. I am down to 100. I manage to give him 2 Just desserts bringing him down to 1900. I hit him with an Ookazi, he jams it. I hit him with another, it connects. 1100. I then bring out a hitter "Queen's double" atk 350, can attack directly, I attack, he mirror forces, I hand down the Solemn Judgement. He is at 750, I am at 50. His turn he pulls a card and sets it. I think to myself (damn he got another atk and receive) I pull a sangan, I have Cannon Soldier on the field, I can't do anything because if I shoot Sangan off, he plays atk and receive and I lose. I have no choice but to pull the trigger, <bang!> I lost...

Serf goes on to win the whole thing. Wipes out KForce 1, one by one, we'll have our comeuppance next week!

It's cool though, I backed up my promise. I played against Nick who beat me last week, this week I got my revenge.

Nick-"There is no way thats three just desserts on the field" <puts monster down, 2 total>

Me-"one, two...you feeling lucky?....guess not, a three!"

H0t stuff.

What's hot?

Ching winning first in intermediate, GOOO CHING!!!

Me finally getting past 1st round after not playing for 9 weeks

Duels down to the last drops of LP

What's not?

Atk and receive, that is such a dirty card hahahahhaa

Next week I smell victory for Kforce 1, J,K,G,A,A,C,M.
