Hey, I recently attended a tournament. I saw that you put reports on the website. I used your format for my report, so it should be alright. I do not know what attachments are, so I just copied and pasted it on to this E-Mail. Thanks for considering it! ------------------------------------------------------ Explosive Force Deck Danny Piper Card Connection Villa Apartments Columbus, Indiana February 15, 2003 66 Participants This is my first tournament report so don't yell at me if I say something wrong...lol. Anyways, this was an official tournament sanctioned by Upper Deck. Here is my deck... 44 Card Deck Monsters From Lowest to Highest Attack (20) 2 * Man-Eater Bug 1 * Cyber Jar 3 * Neo the Magic Swordsman 1 * Girochin Kuwagata 3 * Darkfire Soldier #2 1 * Harpies Brother 3 * 7 Colored Fish 1 * La Jinn 2 * Summoned Skull 3 * Crab Turtle Traps (9) 1 * Enchanted Javelin 1 * Magical Hats 1 * Seven Tools of the Bandit 3 * Trap Hole 3 * Waboku Magic (15) 1 * Change of Heart 1 * Dark Hole 3 * Fissure 3 * Malevolant Nuzzler 1 * Monster Reborn 1 * Pot of Greed 1 * Raigeki 1 * Swords of Revealing Light 3 * Turtle Oath Basically my strategy is to take down the opponents offense and defense and to totally destroy him with beat down monsters. This strategy worked against most decks in this tournament because most people used 1600 attack monsters instead of 1700 and 1800 attack monster like me. Prizes were as follows... 1st : $80.00 Store Credit 2nd : $60.00 Store Credit 3rd : $40.00 Store Credit 4th : $20.00 Store Credit Round 1- # of Participants Left (66) Danny Vs. Kid with 100 Card Deck 1st Duel: This kid had no clue how to really play the game, and did not have a single non-tribute monster card in his deck. He only had 5, 6, 7 and 8* monsters. I did allow him to play some because he had no non-tribute cards. I was teaching him how to play the game, because he did not understand all of it. This round was easy as cake since he did not have any non-tribute cards to put on the field for his defense. I won. Me = 8000 Him = 0 2nd Duel: Again, no non-tribute cards to play. So I beat him really easily. After I beat him for the second time, I took his cards he had with him and built him a deck with 1600 attack monster and about 6 tribute monster cards. He got angry because I took out his 3 blue eyes and he slammed them in his box so hard, he bent 2 of them and took out his anger on me. The judge told him he was disqualified, like he had to tell him that anyways because I beat him, but he also told him he would not receive a tournament pack because of his actions. Me = 8000 Him = 0 Round 2 - # of Participants Left (33) Danny Vs. Kid with 500 Card Deck 1st Duel: He had so many cards in his deck that I was actually hoping he beat me, to show me big decks do well in tournaments. I kept torturing him because I drew 3 trap holes in my first hand and I went first. So every time he tributed for a big monster like Summoned Skull, Dark Magician, Blue Eyes, I used Trap Hole. I destroyed his defenses, Crab Turtle + 2 Nuzzlers = 3950 ATK and Summoned Skull + Nuzzler = 3200...this round was over in about 10 minutes. Me = 8000 Him = 0 2nd Duel: I didn't really want to play him anymore because of his smart attitude, so I beat him really quickly because I did not want to heart him anymore. Took me 2 minutes, 2 7 Colored Fishes with a nuzzler each did the job. Me = 8000 Him = 0 Round 3 - # of Participants Left (32) Danny Vs. Jinzo Kid 1st Duel: He was seeded because there were 33 opponents, and I was the lucky one to play 2 people in basically one round. But anyways, he kept bragging he was going to beat me down with his Jinzo and he wasn't going to let me get a monster on the field, and he found out it was the complete opposite, except I used Crab Turtle instead of Jinzo. He never saw it coming until he heard the words "Turtle Oath". Me = 6400 Him = 0 2nd Duel: About the same thing happened here, except he actually got his Jinzo out, but I fissured it, then I got a Summoned Skull out with 2 nuzzlers and went for the kill. He was not angry, but he said he wanted to trade me his Jinzo. I really wanted it, but I told him I would have to wait after the tournament because no cards out of my deck are allowed out of it because I could get disqualified. Me = 6250 Him = 0 Round 4 - # of Participants Left (16) Danny Vs. Friend 1st Duel: I am really angry at this...I have to go against the guy that came with me. We both wanted to get into the final 4 before we played each other, but it was fate. I won this round by the third round. I went second, used Turtle Oath, Sacrificed Summoned Skull and Neo the Magic Swordsman from my hand to the graveyard, used Monster Reborn on Summoned Skull and used pot to get 2 nuzzlers. I put one on each monster and attacked his life points directly for 6450 because he had no defense cards or magic/trap cards on the field. He destroyed my crab turtle with fissure. When it came my turn I attacked with my 3200 Skull and won. Me = 8000 Him = 0 2nd Duel: This match was totally reversed from last duel. My friend literally beat the shit out of me with his deck. He drew the right cards. The really weird thing was, that I have never lost to his deck, until now. Me = 0 Him = 6250 3rd Duel: Again, he beat me, but I actually got him below 1000 LP before I died. A valiant effort, but I lost. I have no clue, the only explanation I have here is "The Heart of the Cards". LOL, it was a great game though. I was not angry, I just came to have fun. I hope that's what everyone else came to do. Me = 0 Him = 900 Well, I went to get my free tournament pack and got 3 crap common cards, I gave them away to little kids. Tournament Overall: Even though I didn't make it to the finals, my friend did not either by the way because he was defeated in the next duel after me, I loved it because I traded in my Ultra Rares I didn't use for 12 Pharoah's Sevant packs. I opened the packs, and I was estatic, I got a Jinzo! Now if could have used that in the tournaments... Time for Props and Slops... Props - Brandon's father for taking us. - Brandon for beating me. - Getting a Jinzo in a booster pack. - For Justin Perkins loosing in the first round. (j/k) Slops - Getting crap cards in my Tournament Booster Pack. - Playing against Brandon in the top 16 instead of the top 4. - Slipping on ice outside and 10 people seeing it. - Cheaters, Stealers and Drug Dealers.
