Darkness Beatdown Deck Deck built by: Robert Sanders (me) Tournament Report made by: Robert Sanders Location:Trademart @ Moline, Illinois Date: Saturday, April 26 2003 Time: 11:00 AM - 4:00 PM       Hello all duelists!  For the past few weeks, I have been sending in Deck Reports, which were all posted.  I would also like to wish everyone good luck for those who were in need of a deck upgrade and came to me.       Anyways, my deck hasn't changed one bit, but it is a policy to give you what I use so you understand.  Here is my Darkness Beatdown Deck: Monsters: x25 2x Kuriboh 2x Magician of Faith 3x Man-Eater Bug 3x Witch's Apprentice 1x Cyber Jar 1x Sangan 1x Witch of the Black Forest 2x Mystic Tomato 3x La Jinn the Mystical Genie of the Lamp 3x Kycoo the Ghost Destroyer 1x My favorite: Jinzo! 3x Summoned Skull Magics: x21 3x Axe of Despair 1x Change of Heart 1x Confiscation 1x Dark Hole 1x Delinquent Duo 2x Graceful Charity 2x Heavy Storm 1x Mage Power 1x Monster Reborn 2x Mystic Plasma Zone 1x Raigeki 1x Swords of Revealing Light 1x The Forceful Sentry 2x Tribute to the Doomed 1x United We Stand Traps x4 1x Imperial Order 1x Magic Cylinder 1x Mirror Force 1x Torrential Tribute       It may be the same deck, but it brings a tear to my eye.             This is how my Saturday went.  I got there around 11:00, which is on time, and were greeted by friends like Justin Swanson and Broc Golden.  There were two tournaments: Inexperienced Tournament for the beginners and there was the Experienced Tournament.  I don't know how many people were in Inexperienced, but there were around 25 people in our tournament.  Here is how my tournament went: Round One: Me vs. Trice (Beatdown Deck)       This match was about five minutes, so there isn't much to explain.  He kept accidently using Magics while I had Imperial Order, and I KOed him with a fleet of Dark Monsters.  The second one was almost the same.  Score:2-0 Round Two: Me vs. Tony D. (Beatdown Deck)       He is one of Broc's students, so I knew that Broc would make sure that he had a strong deck.  He had Gemini Elf in his hand the first turn, thanks to Confiscation's ability.  We exchanged blows for about two or three turns, when my monsters were destroyed and he summoned Gemini Elf.  Surprise!!  Torrential Tribute!!  That wiped all three of his monsters, and I was on the offensive, depleting his life points.  In the second match, I pulled up Jinzo and Summoned Skull on the third turn, which I depleted his life points again.  Note: I brought his life points down to 4800 before Jinzo and Summoned Skull attacked.  Score: 4-0 Round Three (Quarter Finals): Me vs. James (Another Beatdown)       Man, this kid says he plays beatdowns, but it looked more like a Magnet Warrior Stall Deck.  I played Delinquent Duo on the first turn, which I was proud of, and stayed a little on the defensive.  It was his turn, and he pulled up Messenger of Peace.  I was surprised because he said that his was a beatdown deck.  I couldn't attack much, for my monsters were powered up by Witch's Apprentice.  I eventually pulled Cyber Jar on him, bringing up a new hand which wasn't any better.  On his turn, he discarded Messenger of Peace and decided to pull up the B. Skull Dragon by tributing for Summoned Skull and playing Polymerization.  The harder they come, the harder they fall, for he overlooked that I pulled up Man-Eater Bugs from Cyber Jar.  After that, we kept exchanging blows back and forth, until I was the victor.  The second match was continuous blow exchange, but I came as victor.  Score: 6-0 Round Four (Semi-Finals): Me vs. Broc Golden (Women Gone Wild Deck)       Well, I had to take on the most attractive deck in the tournament; how lucky me.  This deck is basically a burner deck based around Fire Princess and any other lady card he can find.  My first question was: "Where's the water?"  I thought that I would take on his Water Deck, but this would be interesting, anyways.  On my first turn, I set Cyber Jar.  Broc attacked it and we drew some new cards.  Right on turn two, I pulled up Jinzo, Raigekied his Cure Mermaid and another monster, then played Monster Reborn on Cure Mermaid.  Axe of Despair on Jinzo, and did direct damage.  On his turn, it was time for me to take a Raigeki by Broc.  Eventually, he was stalling with Messenger of Peace and eating away at my life points with Chain Energy.  I had to change my strategy and did a weenie rush with Man-Eater Bug, Kuriboh, and Magician of Faith while he had no monsters on the field.  His life points were balanced, considering the Marie the Fallen One in his graveyard.  Lucky me.  He had a few cards face down, so I was hoping for Heavy Storm.  On my next draw, I drew it and played it, and that's when Imperial Order showed up.  I thought that I was in trouble, but I forgot that Messenger of Peace was also negated.  Kycoo attacked, getting rid of Marie, and everyone else did direct damage.  In the end, his own cards ate him up.  In round two, his life points were continuously depleting, and I finished his 450 life points with Man-Eater Bug.  Then I gave him a well done handshake, and Jeric took his seat for the final match.  Score: 8-0 Round Five (Finals): Me vs. Jericho Hollister (Darkness Beatdown)       I told him that I would meet him in the finals, and my words took place.  I started lucky by playing Delinquent Duo and Confiscation.  After disabling his hand, he didn't stand a chance for the first match.  The second match, though, he got lucky, pulling up the right cards at the right time, making me lose,  The third match, he was stalling by looking at his hand for five minutes, even when Justin was contiuously saying that he could beat me with a specific combo.  After he beat me, I joked around that Justin should think for Jeric when it comes to dueling.  Score: 9-2       Second place isn't too bad.  I wanted first, but I can't win everything in life.  In my pack, I got a Giant Rat, which doesn't amuse me, but isn't a bad card in all occasions.  Next week, I am going to probably try out a new deck, so you guys will hear about that, instead.  Until next time, Happy Dueling!!!! Props: -I got second place -Jinzo saves me once again -Chicken Pizza... my favorite!! -Jeric for doing a wonderful job -No headache -I coached the experienced tournament Slops: -James refused to trade me his Harpie's Feather Duster -Unacceptable rare -Tod is selling tournament packs for money instead of giving them out for tournaments -I didn't get first       If you would like to e-mail me for a deck upgrade, trading, an appointment to duel over the internet, or anything else you could think of, e-mail me at Great Exodia@aol.com.  If you have any MechanicalChasers up for trade that are english, please e-mail me, too.
