Subject: Killer Deck Report Killer Deck Report Collectibles and Hobbies 10 Arleigh Road Great Neck, NY 11021 Okay, my first real tournament. The rules are pretty weird here, for some reason. First tournament. Anyways, you start with 8000 lifepoints. Each destroyed monster's ATK power is divided by two and then subtracted from your LPs. Level 1-4 monsters require no tribute, 5-6 require one and level 7 requires two. I didn't make the rules, I just play by them. Anyways, here's my deck: Monsters: Armored Lizardx2 Princess of Tsurugix1 Shadow Ghoulx2 Big Eyex2 The Bistro Butcherx2 Giga-Tech Wolfx3 Cannon Soldierx2 Labyrinth Tankx2 La Jinn The Mystical Geniex2 7-Colored Fishx2 Battle Oxx3 Summoned Skullx2 Neo the Magic Swordsmanx2 Magic Cards/Trap Cards: Stim Packx3 Ring of Magnetism Robbin Goblinx2 Magic Jammer Heavy Stormx2 Pot of Greed Card Destructionx2 Share the Painx2 Polymerizationx3 Swords of Revealing Lightx2 Total Cards: 46 8 people showed up. Not bad for a first tournament. It's one match per round, with 2 losses eliminating you. Round 1: I played some guy (I'm horrible with names, sorry) who didn't really know what he was doing. I got an Armored Lizard out early, and while he dumped out Wall of Illusion in defence mode to stall. I played Big Eye and arranged my top five so my next two cards were Stim Pack and Giga-Tech Wolf. He played a trap card face down and passed. I stim-packed the Lizard and destroyed his Wall. He played Petit Moth and Swords of Revealing Light! I was stuck! He dumped a Kojikocy, then tributed the two for a Blue Eyes! Yikes! He passed his next turn, and I dumped a Giga-Tech Wolf in defense mode, and played my own Swords of Revealing Light. I was in trouble, though. Armored Lizard was losing power fast. I then drew a Ring of Magnetism and played it on Armored Lizard. I drew after that and got a Bistro Butcher. This was it. I didn't know what was coming, but I knew his Blue Eyes was free after this turn. I drew.....and picked a Cannon Soldier. I played him, then Polymerizationed for......Labyrinth Tank! Still not enough to break his Blue Eyes, but I had to start somewhere. He dropped another magic card face-down and destroyed my Armored Lizard. Ugh. I drew and picked......another Stim-Pack! Yes! I dropped it on Labyrinth Tank and blew his Blue Eyes away. After that, the match went smoothly. I tributed the Labyrinth Tank for a Summoned Skull (when it was down to 2000 ATK) and cleaned house. However, he drew a late-game Monster Reborn and dumped it to get his Blue Eyes back. He blew my Skull away, leaving it at 1200:1400 Me:Him in life points. However, he had three trap cards facedown. I dropped Princess of Tsurugi and flipped.....heads! 1500 LPs gone! I win! Round 2 I don't know how this guy won his first match, but he really had no clue how to play. I ripped through a good chunk of his deck with Armored Lizard until he destroyed it with Share the Pain. He even played a Mushroom Man #2! He sent it to me and I tributed it for a Summoned Skull. It was over after that. Even when he got his Dark Magician out, my Stim Pack made sure that it was all over. There was two other 2-0 players left, and two who were 1-1 and three who were already eliminated. The 1-1's duked it out, and then it was time for the final four. Round 3. This was a really tough match. We traded monsters for a while, and brought our LPs down to 2700:2300 Me:Him. I got a nice Shadow Ghoul out who had an ATK of 2600 and ripped through his deck. However, he played Swords of Revealing Light and then dumped off two monsters for a Blue Eyes. I got lucky, Sworded him back and then bumped up a Labyrinth Tank. He thought he had me, but I played Big Eye and Ring of Magnetism. I got a stim-pack out and destroyed his Blue Eyes with the Labyrinth Tank. I then used it as a tribute for Summoned Skull and won. The Finals: Well, the kid had to leave. I won a pack of Metal Raiders and pulled another Princess of Tsurugi, which was nice. Looking forward to the next one! Jeff
