Dark Paladin's Yu-Gi-Oh! Dimension
Exodia/Chaos--Is there TOO much power?
6.27.05
Hello again to Pojo and Yugioh fans one and all!
I received a very unique and interesting deck just a couple
of days ago, and I felt like sharing it in an article and
doing a fix at the request of the deck sender.
It's a Chaos deck that also runs Exodia! How awesome is
that? You should all be aware of my loathing for Chaos but
teaming it with Exodia, that's just sweetness, in a word.
Here's the deck!
Dear Dark Paladin,
Hi, my name is Badar. Could you help me with my deck?
Monsters(20):
1 Black Luster Soldier - Envoy of the Beginning
1 Blade Knight
1 Breaker the Magical Warrior
1 D. D. Warrior Lady
1 Exodia the Forbidden One
1 Kycoo the Ghost Destroyer
1 Left Arm of the Forbidden One
1 Left Leg of the Forbidden One
2 Magician of Faith
2 Pyramid Turtle
1 Right Arm of the Forbidden One
1 Right Leg of the Forbidden One
1 Sangan
1 Sinister Serpent
1 Spirit Reaper
1 Tribe-Infecting Virus
2 Vampire Lord
Magic(15):
1 Book of Life
1 Creature Swap
1 Delinquent Duo
1 Enemy Controller
1 Graceful Charity
1 Heavy Storm
1 Lightning Vortex
1 Mystical Space Typhoon
2 Nobleman of Crossout
1 Pot of Greed
1 Premature Burial
1 Scapegoat
1 Smashing Ground
1 Snatch Steal
Traps(8):
1 Bad Reaction to Simochi
2 Bottomless Trap Hole
1 Call of the Haunted
1 Dust Tornado
1 Mirror Force
1 Ring of Destruction
1 Torrential Tribute
All right, this seems to be your Cookie Cutter Warrior
Chaos, but with Exodia as I previously stated. Now, the only
real problem I see with the monsters (which we'll look at
first) is the Light vs. Dark ratio. There are 4 Light
monsters vs. 10 Dark monsters so odds of summoning Black
Luster Soldier are slim. Let's make some cuts as well since
20 monsters is a couple too many.
-2 Pyramid Turtle
-2 Vampire Lord
-1 Sinister Serpant
Vampire Lord while good, we don't need all these extra Dark
and Vampire Lord isn't necessary in this deck at all, which
also gets rid of the need for Pyramid Turtle. Sinister
Serpant is only really here for Tribe Infecting Virus so I
don't see it as a necessity, but that cut is only optional.
Play around with it and see what you think.
+1 Blade Knight
Adding 1 more Blade Knight allows you to have a much needed
extra Light monster and helps your Warrior theme.
Now, for a couple of other options, try this.
(optional additions)
+2 Maruading Captain
+2 Command Knight
If you want to add them for a little more Warrior Support,
go ahead. Maruading Captain will add some speed to the deck
while Command Knight adds some power to your Warriors.
Ignoring the optional cuts and additions, that leaves you
with 17 monsters.
Spells:
Your spells look pretty awesome, here I only have a couple
of suggestions.
-1 Nobleman of Crossout
-1 Smashing Ground
-1 Lightning Vortex
One Nobleman is plenty for this deck, handy as it may be.
Smashing Ground isn't a necessity in this deck, and can
actually be useless to you at times. As for Lightning
Vortex, that subtraction is really just a move. Vortex is a
card that is better off in the side-deck, but see what works
for you.
+1 Swords of Revealing Light
+1 The Warrior Returning Alive
+1 Reinforcements of the Army
Swords of Revealing Light helps a lot...since you want to
use Exodia also, Swords can be a great temporary stall to
allow you to get the cards you need while building your
forces. Also, the Warrior Returning Alive is essentially a
staple in Warrior decks, you should be pleasantly surprised.
Reinforcements of the Army does exactly as it suggests, by
giving you a monster from your deck.
Traps
-1 Bad Reaction to Simouchi
This isn't really necessary in the deck, but the rest of the
traps look great.
I hope you are happy with this deck fix, so enjoy!
NOTE: Don't expect more CCWC deck fixes, on accounts of I
hate them, however, this one was an exception.
