Some More Cards You May Want to Take a Look At

6.10.05

Hello again to Pojo and Yugioh fans one and all!

About a month ago I brought to you an article about some cards I felt were underrated and duelists of any experience should take a look at. Every so often, I plan to follow this up with more cards I believe fall into this category.

Let's start with what was the Card of the Day for yesterday.

DD Survivor
1800-200
Dark-Warrior
Level 4

Granted, this guy isn't as underrated as you might think, he probably is closer to overrated and most of what I had to say I said yesterday in my review.
However, all was true. This guy IS stronger than DD Warrior Lady and DD Assailant. As I also said yesterday, I expect this guy to be restricted, as one is all you need (or semi-restricted.) Plus, the guy is only a Rare, so getting one should be quite easy.

Next, we come to...

Curse of Anubis
Trap (Common in Dragon's Roar Structure Deck)

Effect: All face up effect monsters are changed to defense posistion for the turn this card is activated. Also, the defense of all the effect monsters becomes 0 until the end of the turn.

Now, how big is this card? It's a normal trap so it's chainable. Black Luster Soldier, Goblin Attack Force, Spear Dragon, Dark Magician of Chaos, Sacred Phoenix, Vampire Lord, all the Monarchs ALL have 0 defense. That makes them all so ridiculously easy to be destroyed.

Moving along, we come to the card...

Question
Normal Spell
Super Rare from Dark Revelations 1/Ultra Rare from Pharonic Guardian

Here's the thing about Question. I, like most experienced players, check the opponent's graveyard fairly regularly. However, if you don't, or even use this puppy late game, it coudl actually work. Question, however, probably if it ever "caught on" so to speak, would become popular, hence making it unoriginal and no longer underrated. There's always the downfall it may not work, but your opponent won't see it coming. I can tell you that. I actually side-deck one just for fun.

The final card for today is...

Spell Shield Type-8
Counter Trap
Super Rare from Dark Revelations 1

Discard 1 Spell from your hand to negate the activation of a Spell and destroy it

or...

Negate the activation and effect of 1 Spell that specifically targets a monster on the field and destroy the Spell card.

Well...this card is like Magic Jammer on Steroids, and it isn't as bad as some people make it out to be. The only real difference with the effect that's similar to Magic Jammer is it states discard a SPELL specifically but that isn't too hard. Plus, it has the bonus effect of being able to protect a monster (possibly...) Another decent side-deck card at the least, in my opinion.

Well, that does it for this article, and I hope you enjoyed it. Next time, I'll be constructing a Beatdown deck.

As always, please feel free to contact me about anything @ tsearcy@lssu.edu

Until next time,

You stay classy, Planet Earth :)

~Dark Paladin~
