Pojo's Yu-Gi-Oh! Card of the Day
Daily Since 2002!

Abyss Script – Rise of the Abyss King - #DESO-EN027

Target face-up cards on the field, up to the number of Attack Position "Abyss Actor" monsters with different names you control; destroy them. If you control a Level 7 or higher "Abyss Actor" monster, your opponent cannot activate cards or effects in response to this card's activation. If this Set card in its owner's control is destroyed by an opponent's card effect, and you have a face-up "Abyss Actor" Pendulum Monster in your Extra Deck: You can add up to 2 "Abyss Actor" cards and/or "Abyss Script" Spell Cards with different names from your Deck to your hand.

Abyss Script – Rise of the Abyss King

This is the card all opponents must fear when facing any form of Abyss Actor deck, and it’s for good reason. It can be searched by a litany of cards within the archetype, it can be easily recycled, and it has superb alternate effects. Abyss Script – Rise of the Abyss King is the best of the Abyss Scripts, and it’s so good, that even its second and third effects are better than the others.

The most common way to obtain this card is by the effect of Superstar or Leading Lady, which makes those monsters so appealing, especially Leading Lady. Superstar is a must to the Abyss Actor theme, but Leading Lady can usually get you the Script easier and quicker, especially in a Metalfoes deck. And I’ve always been a sucker for spells and traps that spring tricks when destroyed. While this isn’t as harsh as say an Artifact monster, it’s still super deflating for the opponent (you’re still the GOAT, Tom Brady.)

This is an absolute must run in all forms of Abyss Actor decks, and because it can be easily recycled, there will never be any fear from the restricted list, even if Abyss Actors were to take off. It has high potential, and an easy-to-use, brutal series of effects. A-plus to the Abyss King.

Hello Pojo Fans,

Abyss Script - Rise of the Abyss King may be the best spell card in the archetype.

Field monster removal guaranteed to be a 1-for-1 at the very least, RotAK can clear more monsters if you've got more Abyss Actors in attack mode (with different names). Pendulum Summon several Abyss Actors and wipe your opponents field clean of monsters. A Level 7 or higher Abyss Actor (2 targets) grants inherited protection against negation of RotAK, making certain you'll get your clear effect. Set this as a bluff while you've got a face-up Abyss Actor in the Extra Deck and you will plus off its destruction. Any 2 Abyss monster or Abyss spell cards from your deck is a great result off a spell card being destroyed, especially if RotAK can't clear away your problems.

Destroyed or activated, Abyss Script - Rise of the Abyss King is a very good card for the deck.
