Machine Angel Ritual - #DRL3-EN015

This card can be used to Ritual Summon any "Cyber Angel" Ritual Monster. You must also Tribute monsters from your hand or field whose total Levels equal or exceed the Level of the Ritual Monster you Ritual Summon. If a LIGHT monster(s) you control would be destroyed by battle or card effect while this card is in your Graveyard, you can banish this card instead.

Hello October Readers. Machine Angel Ritual starts Cyber Angel Week because without this card, the deck wouldn't function. Ritual Spell Cards have become very searchable generically and within this specific archetype. Like other rituals, this requires the Ritual Cyber Angel Monster to be in your hand and tributing cost cards from the field or hand greater than or equal to the monster's level. Then, if a Light monster is about to be destroyed, this card can be banished from the grave instead. Neither of these effects has any restrictions on them. If you have multiple in the grave you can protect all your Light monsters from multiple destruction effects. "instead" cards like this are not effects and can't really be negated in the traditional sense. Since all the Cyber Angel monsters are Light, this card scores very well in its own archetype. It might also be worth it to splash a small Cyber Angel engine in other light decks to take advantage of Machine Angel Ritual protecting all Light monsters.

Machine Angel Ritual

This is your run of the mill modern day Ritual card.  Rituals have always been -2's, so in recent years, Konami added graveyard effects to help offset the cost.  Monster protection is nice but otherwise there's nothing new or exciting here.
