Dwarf Star Dragon Planeter

This is one of those hero horns that has a future in a specific kind of deck, that being a theme with a really broken level 7 light or dark monster. And when that deck finally comes along, I can see Dwarf Star being a problem. While a bit slow, there aren’t very many cards that can search the deck for wide varieties of high-level monsters and add it as a plus. Being a light dragon level 4 definitely helps its cause.

When Dark Magicians got their new support, I thought for sure Dwarf Star would have a presence, but Illusion Magic and even Summoner’s Art is so much faster, it wasn’t necessary. But that’s really the point to be had here. For lack of something faster, Dwarf Star is a good, and possibly the only, option specific to level 7 monsters. Right now, it’s not very good – how many level 7 monsters are out there doing anything great in the meta? Dwarf is a lot like Beast King Barbaros. If it weren’t for such a severe lack of support options, it would be much better. But for me, it’s a no-brainer to hang on to three copies of this monster in reserve and wait for the day when it’s powerful.

This card is very similar to Eclipse Wyvern, but when all's said and done, I think it's inferior.: Ways in which this card is better:

• You don't need to banish monsters in order to search
• You don't have to wait for the opponent to destroy it.

Reasons why Eclipse Wyvern is better:

• It works on LV8's like Judgment Dragon, Red-Eyes Darkness Metal and so on.
• Planeter only works on LV7. Much more limited pool. That's basically Dark Armed Dragon. And maybe Gorz.
• You can +1 off of it and use it quicker by sending it from the deck to the graveyard.

2/5

Happy Friday. Dwarf Star Dragon Planeter is a Level 4 Light Dragon-type monster with 1700 Atk and 1200 Def. Here we have another card that doesn't really belong with any particular theme. Chaos monsters can use it for its effect, but Dragon decks don't need a 1700 Atk searcher.

This monster only has one effect that activates after it's Normal Summoned. Once per that turn during the End Phase you can search a Level 7 Light or Dark monster from the Deck to the hand. That's it. Dwarf Star Dragon Planeter has to activate its effect during the End Phase, so the effect can't be used before it becomes a material or tribute for something else. The monster that is searched can't really do anything either, unless it's Gorz or something. There might be a deck that can take advantage of this, Red-Eyes comes to mind, but this Planeteer is never going to form Captain Planet.

Score: 2/5 If it was 7 or higher, this would be run a lot.
Art: 3/5 I like it, but it would need to be Dark Attribute by effect to make the most sense.
