Rebellion

I was very interested in this card when it was released, and I think it’s going to be used eventually. As more and more monsters are released with quick effects, I think the odds are that this card will eventually find a real use once something comes along that can easily and profitably use the stolen monster before ending the battle phase. Something along the lines of Urgent Tuning, but easier and more splashable. New themes come out every day, so why not a theme that activates effects during the battle phase, a la Gladiator Beasts, and tributes other cards for plusses or opponent minuses?

Right now, though, there’s not much. And while you can use it in today’s format, and attack with the monster you stole at any given time, giving it back is not pleasant. Even worse, if you steal cards that profit the opponent when its destroyed, giving incentive to do so, you’ve lost on the transaction. So, don’t use this card now, but stash 3 away for a rainy day.

I'll make my point really simple. You can temporarily move the opponent's monster away from them or you can just get rid of it outright. The fact that you're out on a card and they get their monster back makes this card a -1. I'd rather use a generic obsolete 1-for-1 removal card like Smashing Ground than this crap. You can also use it defensively during the opponent's card, but that's too slow and too lenient to count on.

Hello Pojo Fans,

Rebellion is a nifty Quick-Play Spell. Boiled down, it's a way to get to your opponents Life Points (if they have only one monster on the field) or gain a superior attacker for the rest of the Battle Phase. However, only the monster you took with Rebellion can attack during your Battle Phase. It won't stop your Main Phase 2, but you do lose the monster at the end of the Battle Phase. As for on your opponents turn, you steal a monster of theirs to defend yourself with.

It's a decent card to experiment with, but only having the monster for the Battle Phase takes away from its potential.

Here's a Spell for Toon Decks. Rebellion is a QuickPlay Spell Card that lets you target an opponent's monster during either player's Battle Phase and take control of it. Then it's the only monster that can attack after you take control of it. Toons have an issue in that they can't attack the turn they are summoned. But once they can, you can usually hit directly. That means if you can keep your toons alive for the next turn, attack directly with them and then use this on their biggest monster. If it can be targeted. This also might see use as a good option for Monarchs that have some ways to Tribute Summon during either player's turn. Rebellion certainly isn't better than Stormforth, but it can be a surprise option.

Score: 3/5 Like Book of Moon, it can be offensive and defensive.
Art: 4/5 Reminds me of Mudora.
