This XYZ Monster certainly is strange...strange name, strange picture...Number 50:  Blackship of Corn is a Dark attributed, Plant-type, Rank 4 XYZ Monster with 2100 attack and 1500 defense.  This card is XYZ Summoned with two Level 4 Monsters.  It's odd in my opinion for a Plant Monster to have a burn effect, but this one has a fairly decent one.  Once per turn, by discarding an XYZ Material, you can select and target a face up Monster your opponent controls with attack less than or equal to this cards attack.  Said Monster is destroyed and your opponent takes 1000 Damage.  The big downside is that if you use that effect you can't attack with this card in the turn you use this effect.  If you have other Monsters out, that may not be a big deal.  It's unfortunate too that the effect can't target any Monster, that the attack has to be 2100 or less.  But for a plus, it doesn't state original attack, so if you boost this guy to the 2400-2800 attack range, (or whatever you desire) you can take out more powerful Monsters with its effect.  I'd still use a copy in a Plant Deck for sure.

Shadowlaw

Hey pojo fans shadowlaw back from vacation for another card review. Today we have the promo card number 50: black ship of corn. This is a rank 4 xyz with 2100 atk and 1900 def. now these aren't awesome stats but as with papilloperative it'll be enough to get by. Now for the effect by detaching a material you can target one opponents monster with less atk and send it to the grave, and if you do dish out 1000 damage. So this card would be awful since the monster could just be run over anyways except for one small thing. "Send to grave". Got a zenmaines or a gachi gachi bothering you kiss it and your opps life points goodbye in one fell swoop. This card just wrecks stall like no other which is why it will be an extra deck staple for many rank 4 spam decks. Buy one now because this card will go way up in price once regionals pick up.

Ratings:
Advanced: 4/5 good and I love wrecking reaper and zenmaines
Traditional: 2.5/5 not a lot of low power monsters here
Art: 1/5 it's a ship made out of corn....woot

Today's Card of the Day review is a recent manga promo by the name of Number 50: Blackship of Corn.

This card has 2100 ATK, 1500 DEF, DARK-Attribute and Plant-Type. It is also an generic Rank 4 Xyz by using 2 Level 4 monsters.

The effect is as follows:
"Once per turn: You can detach 1 Xyz Material from this card, then target 1 face-up monster your opponent controls with ATK less than or equal to this card's; send it to the Graveyard, and if you do, inflict 1000 damage to your opponent. This card cannot attack the turn you activate this effect."

Pretty simply effect but it is also very handy. Spirit Reaper and Wind-Up Zenmaines is both cards that normally require outside resources to deal with but with Number 50 in tow, it is nothing more than a mere nuisance as it is used as cannon fodder on Captain Corn's ship. This card also benefit from the changing of ATK stats. For example, if you boost Number 50's ATK by 1000, you can even send Master Hyperion to the graveyard. Also, Forbidden Lance can work just as well by reducing the ATK of an opponent's monster low enough to fire it away.

Secondly since it sends the monster to the graveyard, it can bypass Number 53 and Wind-Up Zenmaines card destruction prevention shield. Lastly, it does 1000 points of damage, which is equal to 1/8th of an opponent's LP.

There isn't a lot to be said about this card because it is really straight-forward and nothing much to actually milk the value of this card in a competitive setting. It does have pretty low ATK so it does need defenses but if there is a monster that you just want to get rid of or you want to do LP damage without having to attack, this card can come in handy.

Advanced Format: 3.5/5 (Very useful overall card. If you have room for a Rank 4, I would recommend this for mere flexibility.)
Traditional Format: 2/5 (You generally can find better ways to deal with your opponent's monster than this.)

Today with look at a Manga exclusive card, Number 50: Blackship of Corn used by Captain Corn in the ZeXal Manga.  Number 50: Blackship of Corn has a simply effect, target a face-up monster with ATK equal or less than Number 50: Blackship of Corn, send it to the grave and if you do the opponent lose 1000 life points. A simply but very good effect, granted there is a condition on the monster than can be targeted and this card can’t attack but the fact that this sends not destroys is the key,  so no Stardust protection or stuff like that. ATK and Def are decent for a Rank 4.
Overall not the greatest Rank 4 monster ever but easy to get out, decent ATK and Def and a nice effect makes this a card that might be good if you have space for a Rank 4
