Photon Cerberus--a creature that most should be familiar with, if only for the mythical creature, or the one associated with Harry Potter, no? In my humble opinion, this card (with a semi common enough effect of no Traps activated during the turn its Normal Summoned), is essentially decent in the Photon Deck, which is the only place I'd use it...if I used it at all. Elemental Hero Wildheart is superior to this card in about every aspect, being a better type, having more attack, and a better overall Effect. Here, this is meh at best...

A new year of new reviews starts off with Photon Cerberus. It's a level 3, Light/Beast type with 1300 ATK and 600 DEF. Its effect is, During the turn this card was normal summoned, neither player can activate Trap cards while this card is face up. Reminds me of Trap Stun with body parts. While Cerberus might seems useful in a Photon deck, and it might....you can sneak him in a few other decks to really get the most out of him. His ability to shut down traps for the turn it's normal summoned might not seem like much, but just like any card, played right can turn the tide for you. You just gotta keep Cerberus face up on the field for the turn. Weak stats and the fact that he must remain face up the whole turn take a few points away, but i say test it out anyway.

Photon Cerberus
Lv. 3/LIGHT/Beast/1300A/600D
"During the turn this card was Normal Summoned, neither player can activate Trap Cards while this card is face-up on the field."

Well, we have a monster that's as far away from Jinzo as possible while still having a slightly similar effect. Whereas Jinzo is a DARK Machine that requires a tribute, Photon Cerberus is a LIGHT Beast that can be summoned without sacrificing any field presence to do so.

As for the effect... Well... I've seen better. PC only gives his effect for a single turn, and only when normal summoned, limiting his overall usefulness. If timed correctly, this can win you the duel, but only under certain conditions, making him a rather lackluster card. Since his effect is so short-lived and requires him to be Normal summoned for his effect to trigger, he's rather useless.

To be honest, Mirage Dragon is a better choice. He's a Lv. 4 LIGHT Dragon with 1600A/600D who shuts down the opponent's traps during all battle phases, and is available as a common.
