Pojo's Yu-Gi-Oh Card of the Day

Inzektor Giga-Mantis
#ORCS-EN021

You can target 1 face-up "Inzektor" monster you control; equip this card from your hand to that target. While this card is equipped to a monster, that monster's original ATK becomes 2400. If this card is sent to the Graveyard while equipped to a monster: You can target 1 "Inzektor" monster in your Graveyard except "Inzektor Giga-Mantis"; Special Summon that target. This effect of "Inzektor Giga-Mantis" can only be used once per turn.

Inzektor Giga-Mantis continues the week, and how often do we look at tribute Monsters anymore?  This is a Level 6, Dark attributed, Insect Monster, with 2400 attack (which is about the one tribute norm) but a deplorable 0 defense.  Now while we tend to shy away from tribute Monsters these days, fortunately Giga-Mantis likes to equip himself to other cards as well, as seems to be the theme here this week.  You can target a face-up Inzektor you control and equip this card to it from your Hand, and then that Monster's original attack becomes 2400.  So much for the attack increase we saw earlier in the week, hmm?  Now, if equipped to a card, and sent to the Graveyard, you can Special Summon an Inzektor from your Graveyard, again excluding Giga-Mantis.  A bit more powerful overall than yesterday's card, but no Level increase...although an increase of 6 would be a lot.

The next Inzektor we will be reviewing is Inzektor Giga-Mantis. You might say that Giga-Mantis is the boss monster of the Inzektors with 2400 attack and the ability to make other Inzektors 2400. That may not be a huge attack, but when you combine it with other cards like Solidarity or get attack boosts from other Inzektor monsters you can have between 2900 and 3200 attack or more.

Sense Inzektor monsters are dark, so Giga-Mantis allows you to run Deck Devastation Virus. There is also a card called Variable Form that can help in attaching and unattaching your Inzektor monsters. Inzektor Giga-Mantis is not a crucial as the other Inzektor monsters but when you want the beef, you call in this bugger.

One of the strongest Inzektors for today. G-M makes for a rather hefty bit of muscle in the deck and replaces himself with a different Inzektor. Definately worth running, but as an Ultra Rare, he's hard to come by. I'd recommend running one or two if him in an Inzektor deck, but he's just another Lv. 6 2400A monster in any other deck.
