Dark Paladin

Two for Tuesday!!!  After taking the day off yesterday, we open the week with Chaos Hunter, for starters.  Chaos Hunter is a Dark, Fiend type monster, Level 7, who has 2500 attack and 1600 defense.

Now, Level 7 obviusly requires two tributes, but Chaos Hunter has a way around that.  When your opponen Special Summons a monster, you can Special Summon Chaos Hunte from your Hand, by discarding a card from you Hand.  The discard is a bit of a downer, but a 2500 attacker just for a discard isn't a bad thing.

Furthermore, Chaos Hunter prevents the opponent from removing cards from play.  That effect is awesome, and not only their own cards, but they can't remove your cards either..."cannot remove cards from play."  It can obvoiously be a bane to certain Decks, but I doubt this will see play as the effect isn't the most game breaking.

In Traditional it could be fun to side or try versus Envoys, but since they both have 3000 attack to the 2500 of Chaos Hunter, that doesn't solve much.  More removal and destruction, shouldn't be too difficult to get rid of.

Chaos Hunter

Two reviews today! CAN YOU HANDLE IT!? Chaos Hunter looks like she wants to grab you. She also wants to grab special summoned monsters. The discard may sting a little, as I'm not sure if she can discard herself. [Machina Fortress can be summoned from the graveyard, Hunter only from the hand] She owns Chaos Sorcerer with a chance to ruin even more plans.

She's basically the new Dragon Ice / Cyber Dinosaur. There isn't much to say about her, though. You can side Consecrated Light and the Imprisoning Mirrors against Chaos/Light/DARK or you can use Chaos Hunter in a Chaos-heavy meta. Unfortunately, the new format is going to be almost nothing but Samurais and Gravekeepers.

2/5
Art: Reminds me of a Marvel superhero or something, only more grabby.
Fun Fact: Two weeks until Pokemon Black and White!

Today’s card is Chaos Hunter, Chaos Sorcerer’s evil twin sister. CH is a dark, fiend, seven star with 2500ATK and 1600DEF, which are decent stats for someone her level. You can get her out easily by ditching a card in hand whenever your opponent special summons, so unless you’re playing against gadgets, you’ll more than likely be given plenty of opportunities to get her out. While she’s on the field, your opponent cannot remove cards from play. This card makes for a great answer to her newly unlimited brother: Your opponent summons CS, they call priority, you drop a card and bring out CH, your opponent’s effect fizzles, and they are now staring down a 2500 beater. Also good to prevent Caius abuse from those who still use Caius. I’d really like to see some use for this card, but there’s just so much stuff and so little deck space, that I’m not sure how much she’ll see play. I still think she’s a good card, though.

Art: Well, she’s better looking than her brother, that’s for sure.

Chaos Hunter is one of our TCG exclusives in Storm of Ragnarok, and it's a pretty neat one too. Her stats are decent, being DARK is good, and Fiend is not a bad thing. Being a double tribute is bad, but you won't be tribute summoning her most likely. In response to a Special Summon, you can drop Chaos Hunter from your hand at the cost of a discard. Then, your opponent can't remove cards from play.

This is especially nice to counter Chaos decks which will see a rise in play with the upcoming unlimitation of Chaos Sorcerer. Your opponent will Special Summon their Sorcerer, you bring down Hunter, and now Sorcerer's effect is useless, and Hunter can destroy it in battle. Hunter also works as a counter to Dark Armed Dragon, if you have something that can protect her in battle. It prevents Caius from removing a card, stops them from activating Allure of Darkness, stops Spore from reviving, and much more. All around, Chaos Hunter is a pretty decent card. It's best used as a side deck card versus Chaos decks, but it can be decent against many cards currently used in a lot of decks.

Traditional: 1/5 It stops the summons of Chaos monsters, but the special summon you bring Chaos Hunter out with was probably one of those anyway, so it's too late.
Advanced: 3/5 Very effective as a side deck card for Chaos or Macro, but may not be too helpful against everything else.
Art: 5/5 Pretty cool.

Chaos Hunter

Well, it certainly has been a while since I wrote one of these! A lot has happened since I last wrote for the site. I got 22nd of Day One SJC San Jose, A bunch of new sets and power cards were released and of course the coming of the Six Samurai. But keeping up with this game has never been easy, and if Dark Paladin is still writing, that means I can do it too!

Today's card is Chaos Hunter. It is a level 7 DARK Fiend with 2500 ATK and 1600 DEF. These are actually not too good as far as stats are concerned. Level 7 has always been bad for non-Synchro monsters as it takes two tributes but are rarely as strong as their level 8 counterparts. Luckily, the effect on this card allows you to Special Summon it if your opponent Special Summons a monster by discarding a card. As an added bonus, your opponent cannot remove cards from play. This means no Dimensional Prison, Caius or Macro Cosmos and Bottomless Trap Hole does not remove the monster.

There are a few practical applications for this card. The first is in Dandylion based decks, as you can bring out this guy with a discard of Dandylion or SPore or something and then they cannot remove your graveyard shenanigans with Gladiator Beast Retiari and D.D. Crow. I would totally use this card against monarchs, but since Raiza would just spin it away, it is actually not that strong of a card.

I actually think that a few things changed might have made this card playable. Like lower ATK or even lower level. But mostly because the Special Summon and the effect don't really work well together

Traditional-3/5 (Actually it is stronger here, who knew?)
Advanced-2/5
