Earthbound Immortal Aslla Piscu

There can only be 1 face up "Earthbound Immortal" monster on the Field. If there is no face-up Field Magic card on the Field, destroy this card. Your opponent cannot select this card as an attack target. This card can attack your opponent directly. When this card is removed from the Field, except by its own effect, destroy all monsters your opponent contorls, and inflict 800 damage to your opponent for each monster destroyed.

Dark Paladin
Friday

We take a look at one of the Earthbound monsters, Earthbound Immortal Aslla Piscu, a Dark attributed, Level 10, Winged-Beast type monster with 2500 attack (low for Level 10, and not the strongest one) and the same 2500 defense.

The Earthbound Immortal monsters are fun, and very unique, although you can never have more than one on the Field on the time...so it might be difficult to make a Deck around more than just one or two of them...

Anyway, they also like to have a restriction as to what you must or must not do or have on the Field to keep the "Immortal" on the Field.
Here, if there is no face-up Magic card(s) on the Field, destroy this card. Now, as for what the monster can do...

Your opponent can't attack this card, and it can attack your opponent directly. Both of these are good things, as it forces them to destroy the Magic card(s) on the Field to destroy it, or use a Magic, Trap, or effect...

Now, when removed from the Field, except by its own semi-nasty destruction effect, destroy all monsters your opponent control, and inflict 800 damage to your opponent for each monster destroyed. Here, we have something good...not bad, not great, not even necessarily game breaking.

Like I said, it (as they all do) require their own Deck, but if you can work them, they can be quite devestating.

General Zorpa Earthbound Immortal Aslla Piscu

Contrary to popular belief, this card's name is pronounced Ah-slah Pisk. We have one o fthe Earthbound Immortal cards, and one of the better ones. We have a DARK Winged Beast of level 10 with 2500 ATK and DEF. This are horrible stats. Level 10 monsters need o be averaging about 3800 or so to even be considered playable. DARK is good, but eventually not as good as you might think. Winged Beast is nice, but not great.

The effect is great, and why it will see play. I will focus on the good effects and not the limiting effects of it being an Earthbound Immortal. When it is removed from teh field except by it's own effect, you nuke every monster your opponent controls and burn for 800 per card destroyed. This is great. Field clearing effects are great. Dark Hole, Raigeki, Demise, Judgment Dragon and Dark Armed Dragon all are some of the best cards ever made. It doe sneed to die, but anything except for spinning it to the deck will activate it's effect, so you can trigger it whenever you need to with some cards. Mostly you will want it to die by your opponent's effect.

It does have some deblitating effects, I think this is a record for effects in a card btw. There can only be one Earthbound Immortal on the field at a time. Not so bad. If there is no Field Spell on the field it dies. Well, you can search out Mausoleum of the Emperor with Terraforming in order to get it out too. It can attack an opponent directly. This will be what makes it a target, so you can activate it's effect. 2500 damage each turn is a huge amount and your opponet will want to stop it. Once they do they take more damage and lose their cards, so that is a no-win situation.

It is really hard to get out. 3000 lifepoints with Mausoleum and Star Blast without tribute or 3 monsters for a Normal Summon. You can Special Summon it in any way, so Reasoning and Monster Gate are good to get t out. Investing so much into a single card though is likely to bring some sort of hurt down on you, but you can actually use this guy to get some major damage if you can get it to the field. You can also use Overwhelm to protect it if you Tribute Summoned it

Actually, where you get some cool things going is with Plants. They run Reasoning, a Field Spell and have lots of tokens to tribute. They can also use some field clearing for the aforementioned tokens that your opponent's get so you can really start the beatdown. You can even tech D.D. Crow in order to splash Icarus Attack. That way you can remove Aslla Piscu with your own efefct, allwing you to smash some spell or trap cards as well as clear the field of their monsters. Cool idea huh? I thought you might like that.

Earthbound Immortal Aslla Piscu …

Yes sir! I Like it!
What do I like? Well, for starters, I like that they’ve got some of these big monsters withOUT that nomi crap attached to it. It’s hard enough to get the heavy hitters to the field … but to then lose them quickly with no solid method for recovery just turns them into a waste cuz people stop even TRYING to play them.

Enter the Earthbound Immortals. Now it’s 10 stars, so u need 3 tributes right? … Well since he’s got no summoning restrictions on him, he can be shortcutted (dump & revive, etc.) to the20field, so long as u have a field spell active. Ok. Now the only trick is WHICH field spell? Well that mostly depends on which deck u put him into.

2500 ATK & DEF – both pretty good for a monster that will almost never be engaging in actual combat with another monster and can attack directly. And if he is the only monster on your field? – Your opponent cannot attack u at all. How nice is that? Well, it gets nicer – as in IF ur opponent IS to remove this guy from the field by ANY means, short of removing that field spell that allows him to stay, ur opponent will not only lose all THEIR monsters, but they will be burned for an extra 800 LP for every monster they lost. Imagine 2 or 3 monsters on your opponent’s side … Dark Strike Fighter comes to yours and u tribute Aslla Piscu? … that’s a lot of damage my friend … plus their monsters are now gone, DSF can attack directly, and can then tribute himself? Mathematically speaking – that’s game. ((800 LP x 3 monsters = 2400) + (200 LP burn (from DSF effect) x Aslla Pisu level 10 = 2000) + (2600 DSF attack directly) + ( 1400 LP from DSF tributes himself) = 8400 LP)

This thing rocks. The best of the Immortals.
I could see him in his own deck.

We finish off this week with one of my favorite cards. Earthbound Immortal Aslla Piscu, the dark signer god from the hit show Yu-Gi-Oh! 5Ds. Like all Earthbound Immortal cards, there can only be one face up on the field and if there is no field spell card on the field it destroys itself. Aslla Piscu cannot be selected as an attack target and it can attack directly. On top of that if its removed from the field except by its own effect, it destroys all monsters your opponent controls and deals 800 points of damage for each monster destroyed. I like to combo this card with the new Hardened Armed Dragon. If you summon Aslla Piscu and tribute Hardened Armed Dragon when tribute summoning Aslla Piscu, it cant be destroyed by card effects. Therefore you're opponent needs to use something like Phoenix Wing Wind Blast or Compulsory Evacuation Device to remove the threat, and it'll cost them heavy for doing so.

The art is good, and combo'd with Hardened Armed Dragon makes it a force to be feared.
