Pojo's Yu-Gi-Oh Card of the Day

Koa’ki Meiru Powerhand

During each of your End Phases, destroy this card unless you send 1 "Iron Core of Koa'ki Meriu" from your Hand to the Graveyard, or reveal 1 Normal Trap card in your Hand. If this card battles a Light or Dark monster, this monsters effect(s) is(are) negated during the Battle Phase while this card remains face up on the Field.

The Super Rare Koa-ki Meiru Powerhand, and we looked at another similar card two weeks ago, but this one is an Earth, and Machine type monster, who is Level 4 with 2100 attack (fantastic) and 1600 defense.

Now, we don't have a ridiculous summoning here, or all too difficult a maintenance cost, despite having 2100 attack...you have to reveal an "Iron Core of Koa'ki Meriu" or a Normal Trap in your Hand...neither should be terribly difficult in the Deck.

Furthermore, if Koa-ki Meiru Powerhand battles a Light or Dark attributed monster, it's effect(s) is (are) negated. That's great, a 2100 attack Level 4 monster that can negate effects while battling, certainly play it Dragon lovers.

Koa’ki Meiru Powerhand …

Easily one of the BETTER of the Koa’ki Meiru bunch. Powerhand comes out with a whopping 2100 ATK on his 4-star body with no limitations on his presence, short of the standard Koa’Ki Meiru limits of having to reveal something in hand or dump an Iron Core at each end phase. However, Powerhand has one of the easier requirements to fill in that all u have to reveal is a normal trap. Probably very easy to come about in just about ANY deck u are playing, which makes him very spalshable. (not an actual ‘word’ … Microsoft Outlook is putting that squiggly red line under it … anyways…) Added to that is his effect of straight out ANNIHILATING any light or dark monster’s effect that he battles witch makes Powerhand awesome. The 2 strongest attribute types suddenly shut down? Krebons? – done. Ryko? – done. Sangan? – done. Spirit Reaper? – done. Jain can’t kamikaze with him cuz her effect will be shut down once she tries.20Searchers like Mystic Tomato? – done. Not that anyone uses them, but Powerhand could even crush Yubel … hmmm … I wonder if it could kill Strike Ninja …

Anyways, that only a quick list off the top of my head of light & dark monsters that lots of people play that Powerhand would totally brutalize.

I’m a fan.

Today we continue Raging Battle week with Koa'ki Meiru Powerhand, a level four 2100 attack 1600 defense monster. It destroys itself during each of your End Phases unless you send 1 Iron Core of Koa'ki Meiru from your hand to the Graveyard or reveal 1 Normal Trap card from your hand. When it battles a light or dark monster that monsters effects are negated during the battle phase while this card remains face up on the field.

Its a pretty decent effect but no where near as good as Koa'ki Meiru Drago's effect, but having a solid 2100 attack for a level four is pretty nice, and having a deck loaded with a good amount of traps means this card becomes easier to keep on the field. This card I can only see in decks like Gadgets or a Koa'ki Meiru themed deck. I say Gadgets only cause most Gadget decks usually are trap heavy.
