Spell Power Grasp, an interesting little Magic Card that will sadly probably never ever be played...ever...

Ever, ever, ever...

EVER...at all. It's a great card for someone who is playing a Deck that relies on Magic Counters, as it simply allows you to add a Magic Counter onto a face-up card that you can place said counter on, but furthermore, it allows you to add another Magic Power Grasp from your Deck to your Hand to repeat the process. It adds speed to your strategy, and recycles itself, in essence. Not much else to say.

Today’s card up for review is Spell Power Grasp. I personally like this card, but I can only see it being viable in one deck. If this game wasn’t so mass swarming/damage based, I could say more. You would use this card in the Magical Explosion deck. Have Library on the board and play this card, and he is already at 2 counters! With the cards that the deck uses, you can dump the dead copy that you got from the deck, so no worries there. Now, if the second part of the card stated you could play as many copies of it without having to wait a turn, I could go into further discussion on it. Very interesting and good card though!

Spell Power Grasp …

I actually really like this card a lot. It’s simple. It does what it does and it does it easily and well. And what’s more – it replaces itself after its done doing it! What’s not to like?? Activate it with yesterday’s card, and the Endymion Citadel will get 2 counters from its activation. Replace Breaker’s counter. Arcanite Magician? Dark Red Enchanter? Anything that makes use of counters loves this card. Its usefulness increases relative to the amount of cards u play that need counters … and much like Giant Germ or Apprentice Magician – u play this thing in multiples. At least 2. But nobody will fault u for 3. You’ll probably be happy u did.

Today we continue Spellcaster week with Spell Power Grasp. If you've read Mondays article, I mentioned how easy this card makes it to place Spell Counters on the field. Well this is true, there are other cards like Toon Table of Contents that put more counters out there and search out a card in the process, but Spell Power Grasp has restrictions. When its activated you place a Spell Counter on a card that can have Spell Counters, and then you can add another Spell Power Grasp to your hand, but you cant activate it during that turn. Still, 2 counters is nice. Especially for cards like Magical Marionette. Magical Marionette removes 2 Spell Counters to destroy a monster. I'd say thats pretty nice.
