General Zorpa Revival Gift

Usually giving your opponent monsters is a bad idea. Not to mention that they are 1500 ATK and level 3, so all your opponent has to do is plop down Krebons and then presto level 8 Synchro. Well, you do get a Tuner from your graveyard, so you can use it in combo decks like Quillbolt Hedgehog OTK, but beyond that, there is little we can do with it, or is there?

The answer is Remove Brainwashing. A cute little trap that gives all monsters on the field back to their owners, Remove Brainwashing will give you your tokens back. So you get a Tuner and your token materials back at the perfect level for a Synchro summon all on a trap, and opposing Mind Controls, Brain Controls, Mark of the Rose and Creature Swap don't work?

Man that has got to be one sweet deal. There is a lot more to this card than meets the eye, and you should definitely work on the viability of this thing with cards like Lava Golem as well. Not to mention that you can build a spam deck where you spam your opponent's zomnes and then burn them to death.

So many different ways to abuse this card, I am very surprised that nobody has...

Revival Gift Review:

I've been looking at this card quite a lot as of late, only because being an innovater I like to make fun builds that have random cards, that somehow seem to work. This card provides 2 Gift Tokens on your opponents side of the field and a free tuner monster from your graveyard. So I was thinking of going two ways with this card, one being used with cards like Laval Golem and Grinder Golem in a Plasma Control deck or something. The second way being used in a Synchro Engine kind of deck, using Mind Controls and cards like Brain Control.

This card is unique in a way, now im not saying its a really really good but im saying it may have some potential. In a traditional format you have Change of Heart, Snatch Steal, Brain Control and you can still run three copies of Mind Control, which means even if you bring back just a level two tuner, you can easily Synchro Summon a card like Stardust Dragon or Red Dragon Archfiend. Speaking of Red Dragon Archfiend, if you special summon the tokens in defense position, Red Dragon Archfiend can easily take them out with his effect.

If the tokens are whats setting you off, if you can easily attack over them they shouldn't be too much of a problem. On top of that, the most popular tuners are Plaguespreader Zombie and Krebons. Krebons can still be ran in threes, so if you're bringing back Krebons even if they attack you will still keep your monster thanks to his effect. Revival Gift is one of those innovative cards, but if you really want a tuner back and if you are mainly just running level two tuners run Graceful Revival, which brings back a level two monster from your graveyard in attack position.

So this card is an interesting card to run if you're feeling innovative but aside from that there are better ways to get your monsters back from your graveyard, so just use them instead.

Anteaus Revival Gift

This card is worthless, in my opinion. You may get a Tuner back, but his effects are negated, and your opponent gets two free 1500/1500 three-star monsters that they could go ahead and tune with. It's a difficult card to justify in virtually any deck, simply because of the fact that it's an 0-for-2. You lose your Trap Card but gain a monster (equaling 0) and your opponent gets two free monsters (a +2). That's just bad math, in my opinion, and as such this card will only hurt you.

Revival Gift …

With Call of the Haunted banned, you’d think any Trap-ular help in getting monsters out of the Graveyard would be welcome … but this Gift comes with a few strings attached! (ha! … u like that? … hmm? … no? … ok :(

With Revival Gift, u can only select a Tuner monster … that limits its usefulness by at least 75% … Think about it – if u play 20 monsters in your deck – how many of them are Tuners? – 4? … maybe 5? That means (god bless u – Remedial Math Class!) Revival Gift can only hit about 1/4 or 25% of your monsters. Next, u see that the Tuner’s effect is negated … which SUCKS, but chances are u are only bringing the Tuner out to Sychnro Summon, so in that sense – it won’t matter. Lastly, your opponent gets 2 1500 AT K monsters as part of the deal. If u are Synchro Summoning for something like Black Rose Dragon to nuke the field anyway, then I suppose it doesn’t matter … but if whatever u are bringing out isn’t going to immediately rid your opponent of those tokens and return complete field advantage to u, then it would have been better for u to draw something else ... Graceful Revival, for instance, is a trap that lets u bring back ANY monster so long as its level 2 or lower. Many commonly played Tuners fall into this category, they get to keep their effect, and u can use it for ANY monster, not just Tuners.

Revival Gift isn’t a “bad” card, but I don’t see it as terribly reliable for what u would hope to get out of it. I think u have better options, if need be.
