Dark Paladin
Tuesday

Shadowpriestess of Ohm is our card for today. For the record, "Shadowpriestess" is not a word, although a Priestest of Shadow makes a bit more sense. Anyway, our Dark friend is a Level 4 Spellcaster of the Dark attribute with 1700 attack and 1600 defense.

For the effect, it's incredibly simple. You can tribute one Dark monster you control to inflict 800 points of damage to your opponent.
In short, the effect doesn't warrant playing this card, and the environment isn't too friendly either.

Meaning? It means that Burn isn't really big right now, and I don't expect it to be anytime soon. 1700 just isn't going to cut it for an attack strength either. Granted, early game I suppose it could aid you in dumping some Dark monsters, but you have better options available.

Ratings:

1.5/5 all

It does something, just not very well and not very important.

General Zorpa Shadowpristess of Ohm

This card generated a lot of buzz when Erin Diaz came in second at an SJC with a deck that could infinitely remove Dark Magician of Chaos and bring it back thanks to Shadow Priestess, Dimension Fusion and Spell Economics. The deck was fast, brutal and very disturbing to play against. Personally, I think it is a load of rubbish. Much of the time the deck stalls as a result of it trying to go too fast, and even if you win, it is no fun at all to play against or even play. This deck will probably be the final nail in Dimension Fusion's ban coffin, as first turn kills are not a good way to play.

As for the card itself, it is mediocre at best. It gives you something to do with all of those monsters you just played Return From the Different Dimension on, but not much else beyond the OTK. I actually prefer the Toon Cannon Soldier in most if it's roles, because it is searchable by Toon Table of Contents as well as being able to tribute ANY monster for just 300 points less.
