Cyber Barrier Dragon

Hey, not EVERY card with "Cyber" and "Dragon" in its name can be good.

Cyber Barrier Dragon is ESSENTIALLY a ritual-type card that doesn't get the benefit of any of the Ritual searchers. You play a Spell that forces a Tribute to bring out another card (although you can pull it from the deck.) It has a beefy 2800 DEF, but as we know from last format, there are PLENTY of ways to kill a monster without attacking it -- we had to deal with Spirit Reapers, didn't we?

If you leave it in ATK, your opponent's first attack is negated. You don't get to choose which attack to negate, it's just their first. This could leave you in a bad situation, as if your opponent has a weak monster that couldn't take out Cyber Barrier Dragon in ATK mode, they could just attack with that, then with their real attacker.

...so in short, you either get a 2,800 defender that will never get attacked, or an 800 ATK with a free version of a card you wouldn't run anyway (Negate Attack) once per turn. As I suggested with cards of similar names in the past, see if you can't trade some n00b who got a Cyber Dragon tin for his real Cyber...but then again, since you need Cyber to run this, they probably won't do that either. So just see if you can trade them this for Wednesday's card of the day instead!

1/5 all formats.

Ryoga
Cyber Barrier Dragon:
I always wondered why anyone thought that Cyber Dragon needed anymore support?

Barrier Dragon has a massive Defense that nothing will realistically get through, so shoving this in DEF acts as an effective wall. Well, until your opponent uses Exiled, Smash, TT, etc.

It's effect is OK, but nothing amazing. If this is in ATK (whereupon it will be dying by battle), your opponent loses their first attack. It just makes your opponent play around the problem, or just wait, instead of doing anything particularly useful.

Now, it is summoned by a Trap, so you could have a bit of fun with a battle phase, but nothing a Winged Kuriboh couldn't do better.

MikeJ Cyber Barrier Dragon

Basic Summary: Today we look at one of Cyber Dragon variant upgrades. Now to bring it out you need another cards called Attack Relector Unit which is a trap soo to make it simple its another nomi. Now "if" you get this thing out it can negate one attack once per turn which isn't worth all the trouble when you could just use Magic Cylinders. Now unless you're a character deck this card is just good to trade bait to kids that watch the show ( YGO GX ) sorry for the short review but some cards in sets are fillers

Conclusion: Like I mentioned trade bait or fun anime character deck

Traditional Format > 1/5: Just Noo !!!

Advance Format > 1/5: Fun machine deck only

Artwork > 3/5: Its cool looking

Cyber Barrier Dragon

Sorry for the short review coming up, as it should be obvious that this card isnt good. Btw, sorry if my writing looks sloppy, and its spaced out. Its not my fault seriously.

This is today's card of the Day, Cyber Barrier Dragon. Not really good imo, unless your making a full blown Cyber Dragon type deck with stuff that has Cyber Dragon in it. Use 3 copies of Cyber Dragon and make a competetive deck people. Dont use this card, it will give you brain damage and you will die.

Cyber Barrier Dragon: SOI-EN006

Cyber Barrier Dragon is a cool monster with a decent effect. He can negate the first attack of one of your opponent’s monsters during the Battle Step. However, this effect doesn’t work when you Special Summon Cyber Barrier during the Battle Step by the effect of Attack Reflector Unit (the card used to Special Summon him). A replay would occur and you would not be able to stop the first attack. If your opponent attacks again after that replay situation or with a different monster in that Battle Phase then you will be able to activate Cyber Barrier’s effect. Confusing? Yes.

He can be Special Summoned via Attack Reflector Unit from the Hand or Deck if you Tribute one Cyber Dragon as a cost. This could lead to some tricky plays since Attack Reflector Unit is a Trap. Is your opponent dropping Zaborg on your Cyber Dragon? Chain Reflector Unit and Special Summon a Cyber Barrier Dragon. Is your Cyber Dragon about to get hit by Sakuretsu Armor? Chain Reflector Unit and get out your Cyber Barrier Dragon.

Last Word: The card isn’t bad, but it might be a bit slow due to its summoning requirement (you can’t even Normal Summon or Set). It’s a Nomi monster…
