Premature Burial
Equipment Magic / Ultra-Rare

Card Number - PSV-037

wartortle32 Monday - Premature Burial

Today's COTD is Premature Burial.  You pay 800LP to
revive a monster from your graveyard.  The card is
then equipped to the monster.  If the card is
destroyed, so is the monster.

Basically, you get a second monster reborn that has
been a bit watered down.  First of all, the cost.  The
cost of 800LP is a small downside for this card and
shouldn't deter you from playing this.  Second, the
after effect.  It remains on the field after being
played.  This can be good and bad.  Bad because the
opponent can destroy your monster with simply a
Mystical Space typhoon or a despell.  But it can be
good for you if you use Giant trunade.  Like toon
world, if you use Giant Trunade, it doesn't destroy
the card so your monster stays on the field and you
can use the effect of Premature Burial again to bring
another monster back.

I give this card a 4.2/5.  It will definitely be
restricted to 1 per deck.  Consider playing it in
every deck.

Does not take a genius to know this card is good.  You get critters back and you dish with them.  Okay, so anti-Magic kills it and it costs 800.  At least you get one good swing in with some fattie.  It will be restricted in some form, and it needs to be.

SomeGuy Monday - Premature Burial

Equipment Magic / Ultra-Rare / PSV-037

Pay 800 Life Points. Select 1 Monster Card from your Graveyard, Special Summon it on the feild in face-up Attack Position, and equip it with this card. When this card is destroyed, the monster is also destroyed.

Nice. Not only do we get a second Monster Reborn in PSV, we also get a third (The 3rd is Call of the Haunted).

Even though it is inferior to Monster Reborn in a couple ways, Premature Burial is still a damn good card that will soon be on the restriction list. Losing 800 Life Points is nothing to complain about.

The main disadvantage to Premature Burial, is that it's an Equipment Magic card. Both Heavy Storm and Mystical Space Typhoon act as monster removal towards this card. That isn't such a big deal though. For only losing 800 Life Points, the advantages are much greater than the disadvantages.

Yonex Premature Burial -- Monday

Introduction: Woah my Summoned Skull is back, bwhahahah!

Equipement Magic
Pay 800 Life Points. Select 1 Monster Card from your Graveyard, Special
Summon it on the field in face-up Attack Position, and equip it with this
card. When this card is destroyed, the monster is also destroyed.

Why should you use it?
*Reborns a monster
*Abusive?
*Equipment Magic

Why shouldn't you use it?
*Easily destroyed
*Limited to your Graveyard.
*800 Life Points can cost you.

Reasons: Today, we look at our first Pharoh Servant card. It is Early
Burial. This card is a cheaper version of Monster Reborn, but it still
works. Not much to say about this card, other than it just brings back
monster. I believe this is the next thing which makes this card great. If
this ruling is correct, you can Giant Trunade this card back to your hand,
but wouldn't destroy the monster. Since the card isn't destroyed, just
returned to hand. You can cause some major army of monsters really quickly.
Also since it's a Equipment Magic, maybe you can use it with Maha Vailo to
make it 2050 ATK points which isn't too shaby. Also since it's an Equipement
Magic, it also makes it very easy to counter, Heavy Storm and Mystical Space
Typhoon. Also this is limited to your Graveyard, which sometimes isn't that
good since most good decks on average would only have La Jinns, Summoned
Skulls, and Dark Elfs. Finally, the 800 Life Points can be a bit steep in
the end, but if you can get a monster, it should not be that bad.

Rating: This card has very balanced stats, it has the potential of being
very good, but is also very limited to your Graveyard not making it too
powerful. I would give this card a 4.0. This card is great, but the 800 Life
Points and limited to your own Graveyard doesn't make it a big thumbs up.
Regardless, if you can Trunade this for more monsters, this is still a good
card.

Conclusion: This card is very early, and will have a burial in every deck.

IQ

WOW!!! This card is very rather yummy, I can already see it in many decks with Summon Skulls and many others, but I can also see this card being restricted to 1 per deck if not banned in the near future. By the near future I mean that Upper Deck will make a post in like the second week of November saying that this card and a few others are restricted as of November 1st.  Just gota love the way they don things. ;-p

Back to rating the card, the card is playable and will make an appearance in a lot of decks. I see cards like this one causing players to play Remove Soul main or other ways to get rid of your opponent's discard pile. In my personal opinion the best thing about this card is it's art work and I'll probably be trading for this card even if it gets banned because I'm just weird like that. ^_<
