Trading Card Game Tips from fans

From: JohnnyBQuick@aol.com
Subject: Yu-Gi-Oh! Tag Team Rules (Switch-Out) - Johnny Tek (A.K.A. The W.D.)

Some of you may recognize some of the titles of these rules from an earlier

submission under my former nickname "The Wandering Duelist". The earlier

submissions left a few problems unaddressed which are now taken care of in the

current versions. The Switch-Out rules are a unique set of tag team rules that can

also be used for 1-on-1 Duels with each player using multiple Decks.

Contact me at JohnnyBQuick@aol.com or find me at Neutral Ground gaming store

on West 26th Street in Manhattan (New York City) on Thursdays after 5 PM if

you have any questions or want to help out with the Dragon Cup tournament. (We

could use writers for articles on the web site and judges for the event itself.)

YuGiOh! Tag Team Rules (Switch-Out)

Written By Johnny Tek

1. Each Tag Team (made up of two or more players) conducts a Duel with a

shared Life Point score. (5,000-10,000 Life Points times the number of players on

a team are recommended for a Duel, depending on how long a duration of game

play is desired.)

2. Victory Conditions include reducing an opposing Tag Team’s Life Point

score to 0 and/or reducing one opposing player’s Deck to 0 cards up to the point

when both players must draw a card (also known as "decking out").

3. At any given time during the Duel, only one player from each team is

participating in the Duel. (The Duel begins just like a one-on-one match.)

4. At the beginning of his/her turns before the Draw Phase, a player must

conduct a "Switch Phase".

5. After three of his/her turns have passed, during his/her next Switch

Phase, a player may choose to shuffle all of his/her cards back into his/her Deck

and leave the Duel. One of the player’s teammates may then enter the Duel,

replacing the player that just left. (The teammate sets his/her own Deck down and

picks up, not Draws, five cards from the top of the Deck, which are then

placed in his/her hand.) The turn then continues as normal, proceeding to the Draw

Phase of the same turn in which the previous player left the Duel.

6. After seven turns of his/her turns have passed, it is mandatory for a

player to leave the Duel during his/her next Switch Phase.

7. Monster Tokens on the field are unaffected by a player leaving the Duel

unless otherwise stated on a card effect. (ex. Big Bang Shot equipped to a

Monster Token would remove the Token from play by its effect when it is removed

from the field as the result of Big Bang Shot’s owner leaving the Duel.)
