GSun's Yu-gi-oh Article #4 - What if? Duel Monsters Rant/Tips Article #4 - 'What If' THIS ARTICLE IS BASICALLY A RANT. IT ONLY REFLECTS MY OPINIONS AND OBSERVATIONS Different things tend to tick different duelists off. Some people hate when their opponent wins and gloats about it. Some people hate snobbish nOObs. Me? Personally, I hate two simple words (you probably already guessed them), 'What if'. It angers me to no extent when I pull a come-from-behind victory and my opponet says 'I would have won if I had so and so card in my hand/on the field'. I get this a lot though, because I play a fairly underrated deck type) I feel like yelling at them, "Well you didn't have it now did you?". Of course, that would be disturbing the peace. cough*Marc*cough The game is largely based upon luck. I don't care what anyone says, but through my experiences, you either have it or you don't. Things may have been different if you had the cards to counter your opponent's strategy, but maybe you used them to stop a different threat or you didn't draw anything useful (currently going on 4th week :-) ). But this is how the game works. Since we in the 'real world' don't worship cards and get super lucky to always draw that one card you need at the right time, we just got to hope and blame no one but Lady Luck when you lose. I know I said that I was going to write about a monster topic someone sent in, but this happened to me recently and I wanted to stress the importance of good sportsmanship. Using 'What If' scenarios just make it look like you expect everything to go your way, every time. True duelist should and will comment with things related to there own mistakes and not dream of things that didn't happen. On a less serious note, I hope everyone had a safe and happy holiday (hopefully this'll get up sometime in January :-) ). and if this is REALLY late, then enjoy whatever holiday that's next. Also, I do realize that I didn't use the phrase 'What if' in any of my scenarios, but it just sounded better then anything else I could have thought of at the moment. Please request your favorite underrated cards!!! If no one does, then I'll write about one of my favorite Trap cards. So unless you want an article full of TV show quotes, send away! This end the horrible rant. It would not exist if it weren't for extremely unpleasant people in my tournament area. Please read the next artical for REAL information.
