about another new deck type, by Ben
Hello all. I used
to be Ben the Hen, but I need a new, better name, but cant think of one... oh
well Ben will do. Anywho. Sadly no one decided they wanted to make a Dark
Scorpion deck (wrote a couple articles on them ages ago, but nobody wanted to
give them a go), but oh well, time for the new deck idea. It is a Lava Golem
Deck. Lava Golem is a very cool card. It
reads...
Fire/Fiend/8/3000/2500
Effect: This monster must be Special Summoned
on your opponents side of the field by offering 2 monsters on your opponents
side of the field as a Tribute. This card inflicts 1000 points of Direct Damage
to the Life Points of this cards controller during each of his/her Standby
Phases. When you Special Summon this monster, you cannot Normal Summon or Set a
monster during the same turn.
It's
a secret rare from PGD and it's quite unique really... yeah... well onto the
point. The idea of a Lava Golem deck is ofcourse... to get out Lava Golem on
your opponent's field, stop it from being attacked, sacrificed, or in some way
destroyed. Now here are some things that would make a Lava Golem deck
good...
Mask of the Acursed: Now
this'll stop Golem from attacking, and add to the burn. Not bad
really.
Gravity Bind/Messenger of
Peace: Another thing to stop Golem from attacking, but Acursed is better in my
opinion.
Mask of Restrict: This lil
baby will stop your opponent from saccing Golem, so they will continue to
receive first degree burns each turn. It wouldn't be very nice having Golem
being sacrificed for Great Maju Garzett (another pretty cool card that is
underlooked) or Jinzo or something along those lines.
Those are some examples. Now for the
locks...
Magic Reflector, Jinzo,
Lava Golem, Gora Turtle, Amplifier, Mask of Restrict. Now this combo will stop
Golem from attacking, being sacced, and from your opponent destroying it with
magics or traps. just make sure your opponent doesnt destroy Gora Turtle, or
your in a slight bit of trouble.
and
the obvious one...
Lava Golem, Mask
of the Acursed, Mask of Restrict. Now this is an old combo. But I've never seen
it played. Stops Golem attacking, 1500 damage a turn, and no
sacrifices.
