The Truth about the Barrel - ZeroMbr


The time has come to take control of this false legend of 
'Barrel Behind the Door'.  I have seen far far too many people 
use BBtD in a 'one-turn kill' or 'an easy 7000 point attack' 
when they don't have a clue how it's used. So allow me to illustrate.

First, BBtD is used to redirect Direct Damage, let me repeat that, 
BBtD REDIRECTS Direct Damage, it does not inflict it, I've seen a 
few players who seem to think it does damage, though I can't figure 
out how they came to that,  I'm pretty sure that it doesn't get 
the Dark Room of Nightmare boost, but for that I am not certain.  
BBtD cannot be used against BBtd for this reason, since the first 
BBtD did not INFLICT any damage.

Second, BBtD CANNOT be used against continuous traps or spells, 
this includes the mighty Dark Snake Syndrome or Wave Motion Cannon.

Thirdly, It cannot be used when it's undetermined who will take 
damage or when it will occur, for instance Dice Jar and Graverobber.

Fourthly, and by far the most important.  Allow me to print this 
in caps....BARREL BEHIND THE DOOR CANNOT BE USED TO INFLICT YOUR 
OWN COSTS TO YOUR OPPONENT, this includes Solemn Judgement and 
Wall of Revealing Light!  You CANNOT do this!  It's a COST!
