[timexbomb@hotmail.com] Corrections to 08/10, props to Pojo readers, and more ban list by timexbomb Thanks to everyone who wrote to let me know the BBtD combos didn't work. For those of you who read the last post All the BBtD combos didn't work except the one with Magic Cylinder (ironically it's the only one I didn't think was legal, who knew). Anyway I was misinformed about that and refuse to use ignorance as an excuse so sorry to all. Also some people pointed out that when fisherman and ALO are the only cards on the field you can get attacked directly. That's a big info help in more ways than you’d know. Thanks. I'd like to also say props to the Pojo readers who responded. All but 1 was helpful and polite. Good job to you all. It's nice to see rather then just flaming a mistake you're willing to help and correct people. I do need to clear a couple of things up though. I respond to every e-mail I get so instead of writing a bounce of letters to people individually I thought this might be easier. 1. No I'm not a Chaos hater. To the contrary, I run a Chaos deck (two if you think having CED in a control deck is Chaos). That's not what I meant by ignoring the meta-game (in my area I am the only one who runs Chaos, everyone else runs Beatdowns, and I do mean everyone else!). 2. I know Jinzo isn't the only reason traps are so limited. They are slow and hard to pull if not chainable. Jinzo not seeing much play any more should help with more traps though. 3. Yep, just playing an anti-chaos deck won't win you a tourney. What I meant was if you build a solid deck that can stop a Chaos deck and hold it's own against other decks you're ahead of most people who don't play Chaos. I think that's all I needed to clear up. Now with the ban list coming up I see a lot of people changing their decks to be compliant. Don't! You don't know what's going to be on it. Out of all 10 cards I can only see 2 never getting off it, Raigeki and Fiber Jar (you expected Yata?). As for the other 8 there is a chance that they may all be removed in October. If you want to make it ban list ready you should think about what card will be put on not what's already there. There is no guarantee but here are a few changes you shouldn't be surprised to see: Added: Both Chaos monsters. Most people think they will be and I have to agree. They are incredibly broken. Now they do have one thing going for them that the cards on the list now don't, they can't just be dumped into any deck. The have to go into a Light/Dark deck which might be their only savior to stay off the list. TIV. I really hope there isn't a person who thinks this won't be added. I'm surprised it isn't on there now? It's in every deck and incredibly broken. Breaker. I doubt this will go on because it's not a "Ground Breaking Effect" but it's again in most tourney decks today. 2 more to note are Sinister and the scientist. There are many more but these are just thoughts and I'm pressed for time so I'll end it there. Now for cards that might come off: Yata. Most people think the bird is a lifer on the list but don't be surprised to see it come off either this update or the next. It meats all the criteria to stay on for life but with cards like DDD you do have a way to stop it. Harpies. The duster never should have gone on in the first place. It does need a change in the text though. All they need to do is re-release it to include something like "As long as a card with the word "Harpies" in its name is on your side of the field.....” That could make it playable again (and create a new deck to play worthy of tourneys). Painful Choice. I don't really know why this was on there to begin with. Yeah it's good in Chaos and a few other decks but with DMoC getting limited to 1 (don't think for a minute it isn't) and the Chaos monster more-than-likely getting banned this should come off. Just remember that the list will change every 6 months or so, so cards on it now won't necessarily be on it later. It's a bad idea getting rid of your hard earned ban cards as you'll get to use them again one day. Peace timexbomb
