Umi
tornado wall curse of arkness combo/strategy- septonyte
I was trying to
create a deck the other night that uses the trap card curse of darkness to deal
intense amounts of lp damage to my opponent.  When I went through my cards
I discovered a nice little card called Tornado Wall.  So I began thinking
what would happen if I made a A Legendary Ocean Deck that had my two "Tornado
Wall" cards and my two "Curse of Darkness" cards.  The result was a deck
that make my opponent lose lp quickly and gave me a huge attack advantage with
my water monsters.

If you dont get this three-card-combo off hand
I'll now tell you each of the card effects then explain the pros and cons of the
combo and how to beat the cons.

Curse of
Darkness
Trap
Continuous
Each time a spell card is activated, the
controller of tat spell card takes 1000 points of Damage.

A
Legendary Ocean
Magic
Field
This card's name is treated as
"Umi".  Downgrade all WATER monsters in both player's hands and on the
field by 1 level.  Increase the ATK and DEF of all WATER monstersby 200
points.

Tornado Wall
Trap
Continuous
This
Card can only be activated when "Umi" is active on the field.  As long
as "Umi" remains face up on the field, any damage to your life points
become 0.  When "Umi" is destroyed or removed from the field, this card is
also destroyed

Pros:
If these three cards are face up on
the field then you may activate spell cards without taking damage because your
tornado wall is protecting you but your opponent doesn't have that kind of
protection.  also, since most deck run about fifteen spell cards in thier
decks this combo can be crushing.

Cons:
The only weakness
in this combo I can see right now is if you face another Umi deck, because that
too will most likely run tornado walls as well.  If your opponent summons a
"Jinzo" then you should just stall until you pull a level five WATER Monster
(now a level four with 200 extra attack and defense due to the effects of "A
Legendary Ocean").  Just be carfull while stalling because both traps are
turned off and you opponent may now have a handful of spell cards to hit you
with.  I, personally use 2-3 "Giga Gagagigo" or "Terrorking Salmon" cards
in my "A Legendary Ocean" deck for this situation and also for outright power;
both are commons from the IOC set and both are level 5 without "A Legendary
Ocean" and both are 2450/1500 and 2400/1000 respectivly before any ATL/DEF boost
are calculated.  Both cards are, thankfully, witchable.
