Beatdowns, Mirror Force, and South Florida by SnappinNexx

Look out folks, I'm back again with another quote-unquote TIP for all you loyal Yu-Gi-Oh fans out there.  I got so much... er... love? last time I wrote in that I just had to do it again.  Before I even get started, let me send a shout-out to everybody holding it down for North Carolina (don't hate us, we make your cigarettes)!!  Anyway, I just have a few things to rant about.  If you have a short attention span, my bad.  Read the COTDs.  They're pretty short...

Remember the first time you ever got to use Mirror Force?  What a feeling... I just wiped out his (or, her, I guess) entire field with ONE CARD!!!  Now, remember the last time you got to use Mirror Force?  Anybody?  I sure as hell don't.  This is gonna get all of you irate, but Mirror Force, in a word... blows.  Yeah, I said it.  Mirror Force blows.  Don't get me wrong, it has the second best effect of any trap in Yu-Gi-Oh (Imperial Order is the ultimate number one).  But when can you actually use it?  It's great for casual decks, but Mirror Force isn't the tournament-worthy staple it used to be.  Every competitive YGO player uses three MSTs, Heavy Storm, and Harpie's (come on, restricted list...).  Nobody fears Mirror Force anymore, because it's gone before you use it.  How useful is that?  But hey, it looks real shiny...

My last "tip" was on beatdowns, and the endless debate about their "cheapness" and their "effectiveness".  Yes, beatdowns are the most popular deck because they are effective, and yes, beatdowns are the most hated decks because they're cheap (not in the inexpensive sort of way, but the "I'm gonna beat your head in for using 3 Geminis and 3 Goblin Attack Forces" sort of way).  Long story short, just squash it.  The argument will never end, and there will never be a convincing argument for or against beatdowns.  My point is, keep it civil.  Ranting on and on and on and on and on about "how stupid beatdowns are" will get you nothing but shortness of breath (and maybe a head rush).  Whine about how crappy Yata is (yeah, I said that, too, and if I could curse on Pojo, I'd have a lot more to say about Yata), or about how "copy and paste" (yeah, I haven't seen one yet that wasn't exactly the same as everyone else's yet) Chaos decks are.  Those are at least valid points.

Finally, NO South Florida does NOT have Yu-Gi-Oh on lockdown.  If everyone down there plays Chaos decks, I really do feel bad for you.  Really....  What a boring meta...  "I play Painful Choice until my graveyards full of crappy light and dark monsters, so I can bring out my Messenger of...."  I'm sorry, were you still talking?  I must have dozed off....

By the way, I attack with Yata-Garasu... Don't draw.... and I'm gonna do it again next turn... and the turn after that, and the turn...
