Subject: How to Build a Warrior Deck - John Zhao Hey everyone! I'm back from my hiatus after that very long Exodia tip I wrote (whew). Anyway, today I'm here to bring you the best from the new LOD expansion in my opinion, WARRIOR DECKS! Warrior decks are fairly easy to build as long as you concentrate your deck around warriors and most warriors can be easily found. Remember that even if you don't have some of the cards I mention, there are a multitude of substitutes that you can find from previous sets that can still work in a warrior theme deck. On to the deck building guide. You can find all the spoilers for these cards on either Pojo's COTD or Edo's website. WARNING: for those of you who like short tips and whatnot, don't bother reading this long tip. First, the monsters: 2 Marauding Captains (MC) - these two babies are the basis of every warrior deck as they protect your warrior from the opponent's monsters and allow them to power up and rip through your defenses, get two out and you are virtually unattackable (excluding a painful mass removal and subsequent attack). Use them to pull each other out or to pull another level four from your hand, any level four mind you and not just warriors. 2 Freed the Matchless General (FMG) - You can really change the number you use depending on your tastes but for this demonstration, I will use two. Use Freed to pull any warrior from your deck whether it be an MC, a GAF, a Zombyra, an Exiled Force, etc. Any card that thins your deck is good unless of course you run up against one of those nasty discard decks. Though you can't add power ups to him the normal magic way, consider running trap equips like metalmorph or kunai with chain. Remember that you're giving up your draw for the turn by opting to bring out a warrior from your deck so use this card wisely. 1 Exiled Force (EF) - I'm only going to put one since it will be restricted soon anyway so what is the point of wasting money on extras? Anyway, EF is about as good as it gets when it comes to instant kills especially when you special summon it via a second MC. Plus, when you use it up, any grave recursion cards will blow up your opponents monsters over and over again since every time you summon it, as well as allowing you to normal summon Freed if you've got it in your hand. One of the best cards in a warrior deck and a definite must (which is why its restricted to one of course). 3 Goblin Attack Force (GAF) - these little guys will be your warrior decks best friend since you can always use them to whack your opponent or his monsters around with a beefy 2300 atk. Plus, if you've got 2 MCs out, he gets to come back next turn for another round of fun. Good luck finding them though since they are all Ultra-rares. 2/1 Zombyra and/or 2/1 Gearfried the Iron Knight - these two cards, if you choose either one or both but adding up to 3, are also pure power cards. While Zombyra starts with a higher attack, if you can't take the drop in attack points, use Gearfried instead although his effect can be annoying at times. 2 Hayabusa Knights - the flying bird warrior is a great addition to this deck since once you clear the field with your other powerhouses, you can simply stomp the opponent with a double attack; throw in an Axe of Despair and you've got a low level powerhouse. 1 Cyber Jar 2 Magicians of Faith 1 Witch of the Black Forest 1 Jinzo - these cards don't really need an explanation for their usage but if you must, then the Cyber Jar is for comebacks, the MoF's for magic recovery, Witch for deck thinning and monster finding, and the Jinzo is an all purpose killer when you have no other option. That brings the Monster count to 18, a nice round number. Now for Magic, (Note: unless otherwise stated, a card with no number in front of it means just one copy of that card) Dark Hole Raigeki Monster Reborn Harpies Feather Duster Pot of Greed Graceful Charity 2 Mystical Space Typhoon - if you don't know what these cards do by now, then don't bother reading on. 2 Axes of Despair - if you don't want some of your weenie warriors to die a horrible death or need extra oomph! when you've got a GAF and an open field 2 Nobleman of Crossout - cuz he's got a sword and he gets rid of pesky flips 2 Reinforcement of the Army - cuz it finds your warriors fast and thins your deck (restricted) 2 Premature Burial (optional) - if you want to get back game breaking monsters like MC, GAF, Jinzo, or more boom with Exiled Force or 2 Warrior Returning Alive (optional) - it fits with the theme but its not as good as Premature Burial Finally...traps... As I mentioned earlier, you can use those equip traps like Metalmorph or Kunai with Chain but in order to keep deck size down.... Magic Cylinders Mirror Force Imperial Order Magic Jammer 2 Metalmorph (preferred) Ahh all done. If anyone has any cool combos they thought of (i'm talkin real combo's people) feel free to send them to me. Though I don't particularly like hate mail, I read all mail. So send away.
