Subject: Dragon tips for "DRAGON DECKS" - En Dragon Tips for "DRAGON DECKS" - En The Dragons from LOD are so cool. I droped my Earth type Beat-Down and started my Dragon Deck ever since I opened my first LOD pack... well not really. It wasn't until the third day since it's release that I opened up Tyrant Dragon :D Spirit monsters... Cool heh? Well if there so good, how come I haven't heard about any Spirit monsters other than Yata-Garasu and Asura Preist! I'm sick of this. All people talk about are those darn stables witch we find so much in Beat-down decks. It doesn't give a chance for all those other useful cards. Well Folks that's what I'm here for, to give the other over-looked cards a chance to also shine. Here's a combo with a pretty cool Spirit, Yamata Dragon a Fire/Spirit/Lv8/2600/3100. The effect is you get to draw until you have 5 cards in your hand if it does damage. Now some of you might look and think this is imposible or would be a waste because of it's level. But I asure you it's actually quite playable and would be benifitial. To pull this off, first you must play a "DRAGON DECK" not a "Lord D. Deck" with the following cards for support. Dragon's Bead - Discard a card from your hand to Negate/Destroy traps cards that Trap/Continueus targets your dragons. Dragon's Rage - Your Dragons Still does damage even though the opponents monster Trap/Continueus is in def mode. Burst Breath - Offer a dragon on your field, destroy all face-up Moster with the Trap def equal/less than the atk of the dragon. Cave Dragon -Atk/Def 2000/100 Dragon Dwelling in cave -Atk/Def 1300/2000 Stomping Destruction - Destroy one magic/trap and damage it's owner's Lp '500 Magic Must have a dragon on your field to activate. Burst Breath and Stomping Destruction could be switched with Torential Tribute and Mystical Space Typhoon but if you're low on a buget these should do. As you can see, this combo is quite simple. Just by looking at the above you should be able to guess how it'll be played. 1)Use the 2000 stats monster as a wall. 2)If your opponent over powers for a beat down, use Burst Breath to to break even. (note - most monster lack alot in def and would fall to a 2000 atk even the Skull!) 3)Have the supporing traps set. 4)Then when you draw Yamata Dragon, play Stomping Destruction if nessesary. 5)When the time comes summon Yamata Dragon. There should be little resistance. 6)If the opponent use TrapHoles or other traps, use Dragon's Bead. (note - not all traps will be targeting trap so Dragon's Bead won't work 100%. But that's what Stomping Destruction is for, to lessen the threat.) 7)Set all the cards in your hands as much as possible then attack with Yamata. If there are defensive monsters on your opponent's field, activate Dragon's Rage so you still do damage. Of course Yamata goes back to your hands at the end phase but you still did damage and surely you must have drawn out something good at lease, maybe a Mirror Force... There are two way's to play Yamata Dragon, you can attack as the above or instead summon it in face-down def mode and let the opponent attack. The def of this guy is so high most monster would never break it, and you still get to draw if it does any damage this way. Another cool combo is with Grey Wing wind/Lv3/1300/700 This dragon can attack 2 times if you discard a card for it in MainPhase1. Condition) Have in your hand 2 Gray Wing Monster Reborn 2 of any cards Super Rejuvenation 1) Summon one then discard the other for it's effect. 2) Monster reborn the discarded one and offer another card 3) Battle Phase, use them both to attack for a very posible 5200 4) Activate Super Rejuvenation and get draw 2 cards at the end phase. (not really Neccesary) Troop Dragons wind/lv2/700/800 When this card is destryed and sent to the graveyard, you may special summon one from your deck. Big deal Nimbos does the same thing and you can special summon 2 not to mention the LP gain. so why would anyone use this guy? Well first of all this is a dragon and can be used in a combo with Burst Breath need I remind you of how many monster are lacking in def? Second unlike Nimbos, it doesn't require that it be attacked for it's effect to go off, It just needs to be destroyed. So Dark Hole would still triger it's effect. And for my last one and my most favorite card in yugioh, Tyrant Dragon Fire/Lv8/2900/2500 This card is great in a dragon deck. I really don't mind the Tribute cost to summon it from the hand or graveyard. Anything to get this Tyrant on a rampage is fine by me. Like Gearfreed people at times forget about it's effect and accidently use cards like Trap Hole, Magic Cylinder or Skull liar on it and just get wasted. This card is great when comboed with Fairy's Meteor Crush or Dragon's rage if you're sticking to the Dragon theme. The only downside I have with this card is that you can't use Burst Breath on it.
