Subject: - yu gi oh game from other country point of view - By Axier I hope this article helps someone cuz’ it doesn’t really have an objective and its going to be a little large but here I go… I’ve seen a lot of articles that talk about Yu Gi Oh becoming a game for “newbies” or for “rich people”, I don’t really agree, first of all I don’t’ live in the E.U.A I live in Mexico, here the things are a little different; we don’t have an “official” league so we use your restriction list and the booster packs cost something like 6 or 7 dollars so most people doesn’t buy more than 1 each week(yes, there is also those kids who buy like 8 boosters each week) but since there are no tournaments or something like that , we take the casual duels as if they were official duels and also we play whit some duel city style rules so if you lose you have to give your rarest card. So we have the rich newbies whit all their rare cards and the newbies whit their starter decks and some other cards, and guess who wins? I f you said the “poor” newbies you were right and that’s how those newbies became the experts an ones who make the local metagame. Ok maybe a lot of people will thing that we are a real bastard and we stole little kid’s cards but we are winning them legally and we don’t force them to play also since yu gi oh is really big down here, playing in schools is prohibited but those rich kids don’t care and the teacher take away their cards or even destroy them so for those kids losing a card is only a matter of time but they don’t give a Sh&%!!!! That was all I had to say, I don’t have problems whit no one and I’m not mad whit the yu gi oh game ( ok maybe I’m mad whit my local metagame whit all those damn trap holes and those pesky man eater bugs, also whit upperdeck entertainment for not caring about us…) I just hope we have some tournaments soon and I get my mirror force back… See you until next time Axier Any problem or questions write to axxier@hotmail.com
