Subject: Tyrant Dragon - Mike I am just sending this in to recognize that the Card of the Day went corrupt on Tyrant Dragon. The Echidna gave it a low mark, and Adam F. gave it a high mark. Let's examine the card a little closer than these raters did. First off, Tyrant Dragon is a level 8, a Fire-Dragon, has 2900/2500 stats, and on top of all that, has 3 effects. The first effect is that if your oponent has a monster on the field after your first attack, ths monster can attack again. Sounds good, right? You can just take out his Kycoo, then attack his life points. Well, you're wrong there. Your opponent MUST have a monster on the field AFTER your initial attack. That means that, under most circumstances, your opponent must have 2 or more cards on the field when you first attack with this critter. Some circumstances that get around this are Giant Germ, Nimble Momonga, etc. I'm not sure about The Legendary Fisherman. It would make sense that if it was your opponent's only monster and Umi was on the field, you could attack your opponent's life points twice. Watch Wartortle's FAQs about this. They'll probably explode. Anywayz, this effect isn't overly powerful. You must attack monsters twice, or life points once. You cannot, I repeat, CANNOT take out their last monster and attack their life points. Next on the list is Tyrant Dragon's other effect, negating trap cards that specifically target Tyrant Dragon. There aren't many trap cards that actually do this. The one that most people play, and most people don't know about, is Magic Cylinder. It does target a monster, so it would be negated and destroyed. The other one that is played is Metalmorph. Other than that, not all that good. There are some other targetting trap cards, but with Jinzos everywhere, people try to limit their traps. Finally we have its recursion effect. You must sacrifice one Dragon to summon this card from the Graveyard. Now, this effect kind of ruins the card. You must use this in a Dragon deck just because of this effect. Not that it's hard to do that or anything. Dragon decks will be powerhouses before you know it. So you'll just have to sacrifice that Spear Dragon while it's on the defence turn. Big deal. Not all too bad of an effect. The raters stopped to notice that this effect can be good. The opponent won't be able to revive this monster from the Graveyard if they have no Dragons of their own. There aren't too many Dragons that people will be playing unless its a Dragon deck, so it could be an excellent effect for keeping it on your side of the Field or in the Graveyard. Overall, this card deserves a 3.5/5 in a Dragon deck. It has a solid attack, can attack twice if monsters are on the field, and can negate traps. It is a 2 sacrifice monster and needs a sacrifice to be revived from the Graveyard, but this effect can also be good. Hope that this helped the raters of the cards to be a little more careful in noticing little things like how effect can be good and bad. If you need to contact me, my e-mail is frieza_00@hotmail.com .
